Well obviously they're the ideal picks, but I'm being a realist. UNC isn't coming without Duke

Texas AM is not UF, you are more FSU; I guess. You are not now or will never be the main draw in Texas it's UT, period. And that's ok , doesn't mean you want win titles and compete nationally. I don't know why you think you will be.

No matter how many titles that are won, UGA>GT, UA>AU, UF>FSU, and UT is > TEX AM.

It is a better job, it just is.

Ask yourself. When both programs are winning, where do most Texas HS top players really want to play ?

The answer is obvious of course.

Texas Am is a Great job now , but it will never be top 5.

I don't know UGA is , it's clearly top 10, but the points in the article are pretty good.

I've always thought UF was the best job, it really has it all.

Didn't Bear Bryant once say "if Florida ever figures it out we are all playing for second". I could be wrong I thought if was him. I know he told Pell onetime " you don't have to cheat at Florida to win!"

The problem for Richt/Georgia is that every season we lose out on top instate recruits who could make for a championship team and many of those do get, end up not panning out for a variety of reasons. I will put it this way: the product on the field is not nearly as talented as our recruiting rankings might lead you to believe. Also yea, Georgia typically has top 10 recruiting classes but our toughest rivals have top 5 recruiting and those extra 4 and 5 star players do make a difference.

Start adding up the dismissals and the suspensions and you will start seeing the weight of the anvil.

The Top 25 jobs in College Football

7. LSU
Per capita, the state of Louisiana produces more college football players than any other state in the country. Many of those players are incredibly talented. Given that LSU is the only major school in the entire state, all those top players want to go to LSU. Toss in the fact that the SEC recently expanded to Texas, giving LSU a direct entree into the fertile East Texas recruiting market and we're talking about a job so good even the grass tastes good.

It's a testament to Nick Saban that he did such a good job raising LSU from the dead that even a decade after his departure from the school, LSU has been good for so long that most people don't even remember the disastrous 1980s and 1990s. In college football, all triumph is cyclical.

Article is bullshite..

"Raising from the dead" ???????????????
Dinardo won 27 games and 3 straight bowl games in the late 90's and sent just as many players to the pros as Saban did.
Where in the hell does he get "disastrous 80's"?
LSU had 6 winning seasons, 6 bowl teams, three Top 10 finishes and 1 top 5 finish in the 1980s.

Amazing.

They want to play in the SEC.

Look, Austin is a great town, and UTx has a lot more historical success than we do, but kids today are looking at how they're going to get to the NFL. The vibrant music scene on 6th Street isn't going to prepare them for the NFL. UTx's all-time record isn't going to prepare them for the NFL. Playing in the best conference in the country, the one known as "NFL-lite", is going to both prepare them for the next level, as well as draw attention to their skills.

I mean, why do you think we're doing so great in recruiting? We've never finished higher than 3rd in the SEC West, and we annihilating the two former recruiting powers of the B12: UTx and OU. We have only 3 total wins more than UTx over Sumlin's two years. OU actually has one MORE win than we do these past couple of seasons. AND they have a conference championship (shared). AND they have a huge bowl win over Bama. AND they are led by a long-term successful coach that has a National Title to his name (Stoops).

But none of that means shite. We are STILL ruling the recruiting roost in Texas. These kids want to play on the biggest stage possible, and that doesn't mean a conference where one of the top teams is Baylor, who REDUCED stadium capacity from 50,000 to 45,000. They want to represent the state of Texas in football, and that doesn't mean road tripping to Kansas, Iowa, and West Virginia.

As long as the SEC is the monster it is, A&M is going to have a trump card over UTx. A&M has to cash in on their advantage, but the advantage is there.

Last year we were both 8-4 in the regular season... still killing them in recruiting this year... so I guess A&M... Its pretty sad when the head coach from the #2 best job in the nation has to mention A&M in his recruiting pitch... To think things arent changing is just being stubborn.

We shall see what the future holds. But as of right now A&M is quickly trending to being as much of a coaching job as tu is. Are we there yet? No. But lets not call Texas a dream job. 7 people said no before they settled for Charlie Strong. Lets not make it out to be something that its not. People werent fighting over this job.

Times are changing.

We were also told that A&M would never compete in the SEC... 5th in the nation in our first year is pretty decent if you ask me.

Hmmm...did anything noteworthy happen between last season and now for UT?

So Auburn, despite being up against the "gump-gazing" behemoth that is alabama football in a state with marginal talent, is the 2nd winningest "#2" school in the nation?

We were kicking Mack's arse before he was let go. In fact, it's probably BECAUSE we were kicking his butt in recruiting that he was fired.

And we're destroying Stoops and OU, as well. All they did recently was post an 11-2 season and embarrass Bama in a BCS bowl.

Look, the recruits are speaking. If y'all don't want to hear, that's your choice.

They refuse to acknowledge it... Its been this way since we made the switch to the SEC. Im pretty sure its simply fear that as soon as we get these Sumlin recruits flowing into the system we will be a force.

I would rate Auburn ahead of Tenn. for one reason.

Ok... If you believe all that, that's fine.

My opinion, and most of the experts you hear each day believe, Texas had gotten stale and fat with Mack.
The opinion by most college football fans, except Texam, is that will change with CCS.
TexAM was always more on par with the other Texas schools , not UT. Coming to the SEC has given you plenty of advantages over the others, NOT Texas.

They are still top Dog , whether you admit it or not.

EVERYONE in the state of Georgia wants to play for UGA? Believe me, I WISH that were true, but I feel as though UGA has to convince its top instaters more than any other school in the SEC that it would be nice to stay in the state. In addition to that, the administration is willing to attach an anvil to the back bumper of the program in the form of regulations no other SEC school follows and financial constraints relative to other SEC schools. But yes, UGA is a good job. It is is a great town, in a great conference with recruiting hotbeds nearby, and historically, UGA has not had a quick trigger finger.

That's why I'm pretty much adding "theoretically" in front of this list. Theoretically Georgia is a top 3 job in college football. In practice, however, they have to fend off too many other programs poaching talent there.

Richt is a good coach. Anyone who says otherwise is being silly. But imagine what someone like Saban would do at UGA. He'd wreck the entire college football world, probably more than he would manage even at Florida or Texas because he'd have more control there and probably better fan support.

I would rate us ahead too, simply for national relevance and trajectory right now. Tennessee needs a reboot in a big way (not necessarily at HC, I just think the brand is in decline).

Now, if and when Tenn returns to elite status, I'll definitely give them the edge for running their state in fanbase in a way Auburn never will

Tennessee is the better job. The population is booming and high school talent is trending way up. We also don't have the competition for in state recruits like Auburn does with bama. Also very close to Carolina's , Virginia, and DC area for recruiting.

Not to mention, some of the best facilities in the country
