Hats off to Dan Mullen and MSU. You guys have done the impossible in just two years. I have to admit that I was wrong about Mullen. They guy is a really good coach.

Moreover, with wins over UGA and UF (who would have ever thought that would have happened two months ago) and now what looks to be a VERY solid recruiting class full of skill players, I think the tide has officially turned back to State in MS.

Ole Miss has a horrid football team, the Masoli experiment has been a failure and they are pretty much a laughing stock across the country for everything and everyone to the right of Moveon.org and Code Pink (pretty much everything).

You can visibly see that MSU has the juice in the State of MS right now and is going to make some noise for the SEC before season's end.

True. And because it's true, let's do our best to downplay it and give them no reason to get real momentum. We don't need ANOTHER real freaking team in the west.

So, um... MSU fans... you DO realize you'll never get a national championship,... ever, right?

Even though I don't agree with every word, I'll admit I'm getting very nervous and buying into Mullen. Him getting Brassell blows me away

Not to be a dick, but who have they beaten in the west. They lost to auburn and lsu and there is no way on gods green earth that they beat bama, and i fully expect arky to handle them. Not saying they're not good, but if we're really worried about another threat in the sec west then perhaps they should beat someone in the sec west.

No I don't realize that, but if I had to put a bunch of money on it I'd say it'l never happen.

my point is... if you were watching, they played y'all hard.

if you respected your own team enough, you'd realize that was impressive.

I don't think he's exactly saying we are a threat this year. We've lost two games to two undefeated teams and have a great chance to win 6 in a row. I'd say that a team that can do that and is lining up a good recruiting class can be classified as a threat in the west.

The AU v State game could have gone either way. AU could have run away with it, or it State doesn't drop two first down catches on their last drive, they likely have wins over UF, UGA and AU this year.

Look at how far State has come in just two years. This is Mississippi State, not one of the traditional powers. It is not easy for them to gain momentum to turn the tide. Pretty impressive.

Alcorn State, Houston, and Memphis constitute three out of their five wins. The defense is very good, and they have a power running game, but they haven't played great defenses so far.

I like what Mullen is doing and I see definite improvement, but I'll wait for them to play a few more SEC teams before I declare them a new western contender.

I think you're reading too much into what i'm saying. Never said the MSU game wasn't close...i was sweating bullets that gamen. Never disagreed that they are not improved. My point is that they need to beat someone in the sec west before we start gushing about them being a real threat in the sec west.

I think this got taken out of context. Im not trying to slight MSU, and its clear they're on the way up, but they still need to start beating the other west teams before they can make any real noise.

Appologies for any ruffled feathers.

Its real hard to debate that Mullen is doing a great job. Solid coach and he is getting better in each game and each year...can't really ask for more than that...

Glad to see that we have convinced you that we have a good program at Mississippi State. Early in the season around the LSU game you didnt seem to think much of us and didnt think we would have a winning season this year.

We are going to do everything we can to keep coach Mullen.

I could care less about a national championship. Im happy and content with being competative in the SEC and winning between 7 and 9 games and playing in bowl games every year.
