I haven't had a chance to respond to this thread because I moved to another home. If you want to compare the character issue between Mathieu and Manziel, the issue should be resolved quite simply. One athlete is considered an inspiration to youths and adults alike. The other is a cautionary tale. I don't know why this is so hard to comprehend. There is no comparing the two. Mathieu no longer has off the field issues. He is considered one of the best safeties in the league and recently signed a 60 plus million dollar contract. Manziel literally has a place on this website saying, "In today's Johnny Manziel News..."

IMO, Danny Wueffel was the greatest Gator QB and one of the greatest SEC players of all time.

A&M might not have gone bowling those 2 years without him as there weren't a lot of strengths outside of him.

are you serious? a&m arguably had the best OL in college football, two damn good RB's and a damn good receiving corps. their defense was mediocre and that's what killed them.

I agree Wurffel was great but I think Spurrier was the best QB the gators ever had. compare Florida's record before his arrival and after he left (before Pell started cheating). the guy went to a school with a history of mediocrity, one of the worst in the SEC, and made them a contender.

I agree that Spurrier was a great player and by far the best coach ever at UF for doing what you said below but he didn't win an SEC Championship or a National Championship as a player, while Danny won 4 SEC, played in 2 NC games and won a Natty.

Johnny got a Heisman and that's legit

I wouldn't pick Newton or JFF. They didn't play enough college football. They each had one exceptional year. In the storied SEC there has to be players that had greater 3-4 year campaigns...right?

That fact that Waker is losing to Manziel shows you how much of a joke this vote really is.

Bull shite poll, DMac was not even on there in round 1.

Which is shocking considering some of the players that were on there. How could you put Kevin Butler ahead of DMac? I mean, I love Butler....but come on. He was a kicker.

No. Playing xbox and posting on message boards all day doesn't mean you understand football. Tebow is the winningest and most successful college QB ever. It's not even up for debate. Cam had 1 fantastic season and that's it

A few words of wisdom to a youngster.
If referring to the Tennessean, johnny means johnny majors.
