Ole Miss's recruiting was dog shite for a number of years

Yep, good ol just lack of anything OM except when its in a headline. OM recruited in the top 20 with Nutt and O. Freeze had two classes that were outside the norm for OM. One in which they had the number player in the countries brother, 5 star safety and juco 30 miles away, and best friend of 5 star WR, and then another when they had the best two year period of winning in the modern era. Freeze as a whole did not recruited 8th in the SEC. That is where OM usually is. Greg Hardy was a 3 star from Memphis btw. We didn't need to hire a HS coach to land him. Youre just making shite up.

went to state for free. The school who was last busted by the NCAA for paying a kid, not for a ride, not for a hotel, not for meal, but to beg him not visit another school. Ok, go with that.

Nope, nope, and nope. MSU was pinched because a staff member set up a booster to buy an old Mustang for a CB prospect from Memphis. It was a reckless, amateur, embarrassing act and the staff member was immediately terminated. Said booster was disassociated and prospect/player missed 18 months of football.

Guess how long the COI met to determine MSU's fate in that ordeal? 45 minutes. 45 freaking minutes

Guess how long they have set aside for OlMiss? 3 entire days

I enjoy sparring with you WhereIs. I wouldn't be surprised if we ran in the same circles, but I'm calling it a week and checking out. I'll be back Monday to fling poo at your monkey cage

"Freeze put out misleading info to OM writers to save a recruiting class. That's it."

It wouldn't have been misleading if an NOA actually meant what an NOA is suppose to mean. When the ncaa sends an NOA that means the investigation is over. That was not the case. Freeze did not know they would interview msu athletes and add another year to the investigation. If it were just the original NOA and you removed the nutt stuff, which is what he was doing, then you had a loaner car, $800, rides to games, and hotel rooms. That is it. Other coaches would have mislead the kids saying that OM would get the DP so whats wrong with Freeze doing the exact same thing.

Just like I said earlier. Yall are all looking at things from a headline perspective and have no idea of the timeline of events.

The booster didn't even buy him the mustang....he just helped him get a good deal on it (he had a buddy who owned a car lot or something like that).

Uh the more than a dozen LEVEL 1 violations

Academic fraud which happened in Obama's first term under a completely different staff and administration.

Academic fraud. Huge No No. Doesn't matter when it happened or who was in charge, the school gets punished. Ask Pete Carroll and USC, ask Jim Tressel and Ohio State, ask John Calipari and Memphis.

and a kid who admitted taking money from others schools, who didn't go to OM, who changed his story multiple times, and is at OM rival says he got 13K.

A kid who verified the evidence the NCAA had already gathered of Ole Miss associated people paying a recruit. Absolutely a major infraction.

quote:

Outside of those two things, what is considered major and rampant like you said?

Uh, having an athletic administrator directly hooking up recruits and players with money provided by boosters.

You think he's the only one who got money from OM boosters, or that he's the only one NCAA could get to go on record? So the boosters - independent of the OM staff, mind you - selected him out of a massive pool of recruits over the years and decided that he and he alone was worthy of free clothing, free meals & lodging, several hundred dollars from one booster, and several thousand from another booster?

Just him? Just Lewis got money? Come on man. You guys were blatant, cheating happened before and DURING the ncaa investigation, your admin didn't exhibit "exemplary cooperation" as you tried to tell your local propaganda media, and you guys continue to deny it is as bad as all of the evidence points to it being. Just accept what's coming so you can start recovery - personal and otherwise - sooner.

Didn't say you needed to, just saying you did. Also a 5-star kid who, along with said 3-star, was recruited by Freeze to go Briarcrest, then adopted at age 17 by one of ole miss's boosters was also part of that equation. Not just a 3-star from memphis.

You and plenty of other Ole Miss fans on this board have been dead wrong, repeatedly, for the better part of 2 years. Y'all have run with absolute bullshite fed to you by a bunch of sunshine pumpers who call themselves 'insiders'. But I do admire your commitment to the program. The whole thing is going down in spectacular flames, yet here you are carrying the banner

The NOA got split up so the other sports involved could go ahead and get their sanctions. There was no need to hold the other 2 sports hostage because your fooball team couldn't quit cheating. Your athletic director lied, just like your entire athletic department has been lying about this entire ordeal for years. They were interviewing student athletes the week your athletic director lied about the investigation being over (a lot of athletes, not just Leo Lewis). North Carolina got 3 amended NOA's. It's not unheard of. You don't know what you're talking about.

Whereispmaha is grasping at straws and trying to divert attention away from the fact that the core of OM AD systematically and strategically put a Booster/player/ recruit scheme in place to provide inducements, incentives, and impermissible benefits to athletes.

Then the staffers lied, misrepresented, and circumvented their own Compliance Department and continues the operation directly under the nose of the NCAA investigators.

The tick tacky little shite about meals, lodging, transportation, apparel, a few hundred bucks here and there is irrelevant. The trivial bullshite about who told what stories and who blames who has zero bearing on the actual operation that transpired.

To be honest, I'm not sure if he's deliberately being obtuse or is it his drive to have last word making him this way. It's past being comical.

The Rebel Rags lawsuit is what's really going to frick Ole Miss.

When you have someone filing a malicious lawsuit against student athletes to try and discredit testimony they gave to the NCAA, Testimony that appears to be corroborated by other sources, well, you probably should get the fricking death penalty.

(1) RR doesn't fall under the NCAA jurisdiction
(2) People file malicious, meritless lawsuits every day

Unless someone produces evidence that OM & RR conspired to influence the investigation, it will have no bearing at all.

I think that the only remote risk of the Rebel Rags lawsuit is that it will not work in Ole Miss's favor if the conference held a vote to remove them for some reason. Suing another conference member's student athletes because they are your rival is sad, and I doubt it's looked upon very highly by leader of other institutions.

Sorant, you know that Matt Luke persuaded his father-in-law at RR to sue the pants off Leo.

And you know that Ross, Hugh and 10 others at Ole Miss defamed Nutt, even though Nutt's attorney could not name a single defamatory statement.

And the Ross and Jeff Vitter (and his brother David "The D.C. Madam" Vitter) gave Hugh the numbers of certain peoples if he was lonely.
