They were freshmen that year
Hillis was a SO.
Tony Ugoh was a RJR.
Stephen Parker was a RJR.
Robert Felton was a RSO.
Jonathan Luigs was a RFR.
Jamal Anderson was a SO
Chris Houston was a RSO.

Can someone refresh my memory on why Mustain didnt follow Gus to Tulsa?
why would Arkansas grant Mustain a release to play at Tulsa, especially when Ark played them two years later? No school would grant a release to a QB to follow a former coach to a school they'd be playing down the road.

I enjoyed it and if the hog fans were honest the only reason they made it to Atlanta was because of Gus.
Uh no. Probably has to do with studs in the backfield.

Do you realize how badly Nutt can screw shite up? Read the article. That's just a small glimpse.
Have you ever noticed in life that it's not the good things that frick things up?

Right, but Mustain could have chosen to sit out the year instead and would have still been more successful than he was at SC
This is all hindsight at this point as someone pointed out earlier he probably assumed with his talent and the USC brand behind him he would be set for life

Article really didn't paint him in a good light.

It was mainly in response to the typical DaleDenton types who I first responded to.

It was fairly accurate. Gus never really said anything negative about 2006 and it was like a traveling side show run by a clown. There is no telling how good we might have been that year had there been some real harmony within the ranks.

I'm convinced that without Nutt's meddling, Gus would have been a very successful OC at Arkansas. And with Mustain, DMac, etc in 07, Gus would have driven the SEC crazy.
BUT... Gus would have earned the right to be a HC, and we would have been left with Nutt for an even longer period.

Probably a natty. We were # 1 or 2, and DMAC gave it to us dry. I was in the stands, and clearly remember that game. Nutt screwed you guys that year.

I was there too Tubbs and company had no answer for their offense.

his is but i'll never think the other 2 keys players in this ordeal were perfect angels either especially the one that was an adult by every standard.

Tubs seemed to never have an answer for any of Arky's offenses.
Oh look, Fred Talley just ran by my window.

I don't think anyone on here hates him as much as you. And everyone here hates him

I give Gus credit for making the changes that gave us a good season.
There's a strange segment of the fanbase that chooses to hate Mustain for reasons I can't understand, but my hate is reserved for Nutt for the way that went.
I don't hate Gus. I never wanted him as our HC, but I don't hate him.
