I'm glad some LSU fans understand negotiating.

Foley read the Art of the Deal

Sure. But that has zero to do with the goal.. which was to dodge LSU and avoid a loss

All we can really say is well played Sir.

Right now even all my Florida buddies openly admit they were not likely to win this game with all starting DLine out, coming off a unexpectedly tough game versus Vandy, and on offense that can't score with one hundred dollar bill in a whore house.

Plus since hated Tennessee has to play both Alabama and A&M they are likely to get 2 losses. So Florida has a competive advantage in not even playing the game.

Foley slow played the clock so game could not be moved, then deflected attention leaking story they offered or were willing to play game November 19, which he knew LSU would never do.

He easily has out maneuvered LSU and SEC. This is why he is considered one of the best in the business.

He did his freaking job boys. It sucks in that LSU no longer controls its own fate, but let's all be honest we really don't deserve too.

So now we are faced with likelihood of Bama vs Florida even those both may have big loses to rivals. Les bon temp roulle

UCF also decided to not play this week. They postponed their game and got Tulane to agree to play later.
That's because they share the same open date.

LSU are the one's wussing out on the date.
what date are you talking about? 10/9? 10/10? BC Fla "wussed" out on either of those days. and if you're talking about 11/19, LSU has not been asked about that date yet. that was just poor journalism, in the words of JA...

Begrudgingly, I agree. He did what was best for Florida and LSU put itself in this position.

Frankly, I wish we would have gotten this kind of effort from Alleva in the Miles fiasco long ago.

Feelings have nothing to do with this, sorry. I would love to see the Tigers play tomorrow as well.

You know there's something called business ethics? There's a reason you don't go around fricking over people you do business with.

Sure there are and that conversation is beyond the scope of what I have laid out.

Honestly, dodging this game was definitely advantageous to UF and a smart move by them. However, if Tennessee beats the Aggies or Bama, look for their AD to slander LSU until we cave in and play then on the 19th. Tennessee wins either of those games there will be a PR war going on.

If our AD had been smart, he would have demanded a contingency plan for this weekends game on Tuesday in case the game needed to be moved. Instead he just sat on his hands and waited.

Notable Points:
quote:

1. Florida is not scared to play. I am sure they would love to.
They're a little scared and very happy, from a competitive standings viewpoint, with the way things turned out. They had 4 D lineman out and a just returning QB.

quote:

2. The SEC is not plotting against LSU. It is just incompetent and looks very weak right now.
The SEC is incompetent and never has stood up to it's prominent institutions (which LSU clearly isn't based on historical treatment over many many years) to do what's right.

quote:

3. Jeremy Foley outmaneuvered the SEC and out PRd the LSU administration.
Jeremy Foley and UF held all the cards. It was their home game, their staff and players along with all their families in harms way.

As you yourself said - "Player safety was always a powerful fallback in Foley's pocket. There's absolutely no way anyone can challenge him". Right on, and that's why they never needed to out PR anyone.

SEC leadership just sucks but they were not outmaneuvered because they always sided with UF. Not sure if LSU could have done anything in this instance to create a different outcome, but to claim the UF and Foley executed some master stroke to our disadvantage is just silly. They played the cards they had, we simply had no cards that could beat them.

K. Adults talking here.

I think the absolutely only play Alleva could have made would have been Tuesday or Wednesday early, releasing a statement publicly about how LSU was doing everything it could to accommodate. That would have put some pressure on the SEC and Foley. Then again it could have backfired and everyone think he is a giant douche for pushing Florida to play with a hurricane looming, but at that time Foley's message was the game was being played in Gainesville.

Hindsight is 20/20 though.
