OSU may have more fans here than TCU honestly. For like a month before we played them in 2007 I couldn't go into a grocery store with a LSU shirt on without being heckled. Plus they will travel well. This is not a factor at all.

Neither was LSU's three consecutive Sugar Bowl national championship appearances.

Come on man. The LSU following vs the TCU following is not even close. They were the right team to go all three years they went anyway. You really think the college football NC needs to put local teams in the game?

Yeah, a couple of fanbases have every right to be pissed tomorrow night, IMO. I said this in another thread......I believe bama, oregon, fsu, ohio state, tcu, and baylor are all capable of winning the NC this year. There isn't a single one of them that has been on every week. Every team has positives and negatives. It will be interesting seeing what the committee decides.

You really think LSU playing three national championship games ALL at the Sugar Bowl is just coincidence?

Do you think the business of college football exists for anything besides money? Why would that business be different than any other business?

You're funny comparing a TCU and Baylor to an LSU.

It's WAY more profitable to have OSU in than TCU, and it's not close. TCU just got into the Big 12. Did you see their game today at home? They didn't even sell out here.

So, even though I disagree with you about LSU, if I assume you are correct, OSU get's in.

Didn't you say TCU had a "local" angle? You're funny.

The Big12 is indeed screwing over Baylor just because they think TCU has a better shot at getting in.

You make your ENTIRE PR CAMPAIGN around football "One True Champion" because you're the only league that plays full round robin? And then don't give the head to head tiebreaker to Baylor because you don't think they have as good a shot as making it as TCU?

Absolute crap. Art Briles is right to be pissed.

Baylor is 100% not getting in regardless.

But the committee might now take OSU purely to avoid the controversy of taking TCU over Baylor. By leaving them both out you completely avoid that debate and youc an just say OSU is a conference champ too (sole) played an extra big game to win the title, and the gap between then and TCU was always super small anyway.

The money has been made already. There will not be one penny more made if OSU gets in ahead of a TCU or Baylor. That is what has impressed me with the committee, up to this point. It has been about what has actually happened on the field this season. It hasn't been the same old beauty contest as the polls have been for years.

No, I didn't say "TCU had a local angle. I said if a local angle was needed, TCU or perhaps Baylor are there to provide it. You do understand the difference?

I also said my guess is that OSU will get in. Not sure why you ignored that part?

I agree the committe has done a great job so far.

One mistake people are making is applying old AP/Coaches poll "logic" to the committee rankings.

For example "TCU is #3 and they won, they shouldn't be jumped"

That's not how the committee thinks about it at all. That's old poll logic. The committee THROWS AWAY last weeks rankings completely and rebuilds them from scratch via a very specific process. Every week is its own thing.

They don't just list their team 1-25 and compile the votes. There's a much more complicated voting system.

Oh, well alright then. It won't be so rest easy.

Regarding college football making more money with OSU:

They will. If they do this they please more alumns and big wigs in the college football world. If you make people with money happy, you will get some of it in some way, shape or form. However, I don't think the committee is considering this either and I think TCU will be in. If the committee is considering the Rose Bowl and all that nonsense, frick this bullshite for real.

The Big12 changed their bylaws on spot when declaring two champions therefore cut them down and leave out Baylor and TCU even though Baylor certainly deserves to be in the game just as the rules state.

I completely agree with you. The scapegoat is the conference championship angle yet Baylor should be in the playoff!

Art is pissed. LINK

The only thing Art's argument would succeed in is keeping a Big 12 team out of the playoff all together.

Two teams with the same record and nearly the exact same schedule and the loser is ranked three spots higher than the winner...

Not to mention the fact that three teams with losses are ranked higher than the only undefeated team.

You can say a lot of things about the committee, but being about what has actually happened on the field, is not one of them.
