Coker could not even beat out Trickett until he transfered to WV.

I watched the video in your link of every pass he threw at FSU. A few observations:
1. Elite arm strength
2. Excellent combination of size, height, and mobility
3. Excellent pocket presence
4. Average decision making. Tends to force a lot of throws. Loves to check down to the HB (similar to what AJ did last year).
5. Average accuracy. Makes some NFL throws and then follows it up with bad misses on easy targets.
Essentially, he has unlimited raw ability, but needs a lot of work. Bama will likely go extremely run heavy, with lots of check downs to the HB and TE, along with a few deep plays to Cooper until Coker can settle in and learn to play within Saban's conservative passing offense. I feel confident that will be enough to win our first six games, and we will really get to see what he can do starting with the aTm game.

Everybody else on McCarron: While he was at Bama - He isn't very good, he's a game manager.
Everybody else on McCarron: Now - Bama will never replace him.
Welcome to the internet. People are hypocrites and homers. You shouldn't be surprised about it for long.

Most of his passes were 5 yard slants or dig routes. He missed on half of those passes. If Winston barely beat him out in the Fall, then something happen in the regular season that made him regress.

Yep, if our run game is as good as it should be, Cooper is gonna have a lot of opportunities for one on one deep balls. The intermediate passing game is where I think Coker will struggle.

Only thing more sad than this article is the Coker "highlights"
He is worse than I thought
He is worse than I thought

His spring game looked horrible if that is all you saw at the beginning of the video. The actual game footage later in the video looked better. Like I said, I think we are dealing with an extremely gifted QB physically, but I'm not sure if he has the ability to be the game manager Saban wants. Hell, we may not have anyone on the roster who can be a game manager. If that is the case, Saban might let Kiffin open it up and play a more high risk/high reward style of offense.

The hype race between LSUs RB and Bamas QB is something simply stunning.

Slow down. The other WR's are solid and will get some production due to the attention Cooper will get, but Cooper is unquestionably the star. I believe OJ Howard will end up being our #2 receiver statistically.

Cooper was like the 5th or 6th best WR in the SEC-west last season. He's good though.
