Was A&M in the SEC in 2010? If not then GTFO.

Florida gives the "Other 8" hope that a program can climb up into the upper group.

AP Top 25 Finishes for Florida:

1952- #15
----------
1957- #17
1958- #18
1959- #19
1960- #14
----------
1969- #14
----------
1974- #15
----------
1983- #6
1984- #3
1985- #5
----------

Their resume looked very similar to the resumes today for the programs of Arkansas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Missouri, etc.

Then 1990 came around and Florida embarked on 12 consecutive Top 25 finishes (10 of which were Top 10 finishes). Later came five more consecutive Top 13 finishes (2005-2009) which also included 2 National Titles.

Similar bursts of excellence were enjoyed by Miami and Florida State in the 1980s/1990s.

So here is a message of hope to all the lesser programs out there: All you need is a population explosion in your state coupled with the hiring of a legendary coach on par with Spurrier, Bowden, etc., and you might jump up into the upper echelon.

I mean, it's like saying "Big 5" in baseball and saying the Cardinals, A's, Giants and Red Sox are the same as the Yankees.

This is by far the most impressive statistic. Equal to every other teams #1 finishes, combined.

A bit touchy huh? Your list didn't specify SEC years only, you should have done 2012 then. Still means you were wrong and A&M should have 2.

**Counting wins/losses against ranked teams based on the opponents FINAL ranking only:

All-Time record in SEC play against Top 25 opponents:

42.8%- Alabama (77-104-6)
35.9%- Florida (66-119-3)
33.8%- Auburn (66-132-6)
29.4%- Tennessee (46-118-11)
28.8%- LSU (50-219-7)
25.0%- Georgia (39-121-4)

I only have the Top 6 though.

And before anyone complains about using *Final* rankings, stop. It's the only way to do it. Why should Bama get credit for beating a Top 10 Texas A&M early in the season but LSU not get the same credit for beating the same Texas A&M team later in the season? If you want to compare apples to apples, you have to use final rankings.

Or you can just laugh at Ole Miss for never having any 10-win regular seasons despite 22 top 25 finishes since 1950.

Why'd you only go back to 1950 when the AP poll started in 1936?
