If you look through you'll notice just like many have pointed out the lack of depth we have on the DL & LB. Sure there is talent there but not nearly the numbers needed to sustain a SEC DL for a season. But you asshats continue to troll about Chavis and how great a recruiter he is.

Actually we are pretty sure he is a good coach. The recruiter part is still to be judged.

Seeing as how our head coach is an awesome recruiter but a so-so coach, it seems Chavis is the perfect fit.

So you agree that he isn't a great recruiter then.

Your DL coach is a pretty good recruiter. Sumlin likes to pull in WRs and that's about it.

No, that isn't what I said. What I said was we can't judge that yet because he hasn't had a full recruiting cycle at A&M. So far I have enjoyed his recruiting actually because he is using his own evaluation over the recruiting services.

Sumlin likes to pull in stars on both sides of the ball. Everyone gets a ride in the helicopter.

As if he became a new coach when he went to A&M. He's the same recruiter as he was at LSU.

Just look back to LSU's recruiting classes from 2010 onward for a glimpse into A&M's recruiting future.

Sure, but maybe he is a better fit at A&M than LSU.

I mean, we already had good recruiters- the best we have had in decades. What we didn't have was:

1. Coaches who could look at a player and tell they were talented without relying on a 247 ranking

and

2. Coaches will skins on the wall (aka NFL players they have coached) so that our good recruiters could use that reputation to increase the entire's staff legitimacy.

With Chavis we got both of those things. His fatass can sit in his office all day and we don't care, as long as he lets us shop his pedigree on the road and as long as he vetos an overrated talent before we get too attached. Heck we'll even bring the talent to his office for him to judge. He just needs to say no when they won't work. For that alone I will judge him.

I would love to recruit LBs like LSU has done in that period.

frick I would trade every LSU defensive class since 2010 with every defensive class we have had since 2010 in a heartbeat.

A&M might've actually developed them.

I'm not sold on Chavis being able to sit on his arse and everyone just says "come play for Chavis". I'm not sure how much scouting he does either. I think he's a game planner and a game day coach but doesn't pull his weight in any facet towards signing day. We'll see though.

It worked for Mack.
