LSU was too cheap to retain Chavis, so they hired his best friend for cheaper. Now their front 7 looks worse than A&Ms and the secondary looks 2008 level.

Kevin Steele isn't a very good defensive coordinator. We knew this before he was hired, we knew this when he was hired and we know this now. I would expect LSU's defense to steadily get worse, and that's not a good recipe for success when you have a handicapped, Les Miles driven offense.

It's not like they didn't try. They offered him MORE than he is currently making at A&M. But Chavis wants to win, and he knows that nobody can win with the current offensive staff at LSU.
