The attorney generals from Tennessee and Virginia have filed a federal lawsuit against the NCAA that casts the NCAA’s Name Image and Likeness rules as antitrust violations.
quote:- Clay Travis
The states of Tennessee and Virginia request immediate suspension of all NCAA NIL rule enforcement. If these states win — and I’d bet more states will join this lawsuit — the NCAA is officially dead in major college sports.

The NCAA is about to become totally irrelevant.

The entire state is dedicated to cheating.

The frickers held up Ivisic from playing for almost three months because he got two hundred dollar travel stipend.
NCAA brings this down on themselves for preferential treatment, stonewalling stipends for athletes etc. Now it is out of control. Time for a new organization for the Power Four and a quarter.

I have no love for the NCAA
But the idea that THIS being the reason it dies off is a good thing is foolish. NIL is getting LESS regulated.

This doesn't help fix the problems in college athletics.
If the membership including conferences and teams don't set some parameters and come together for the good of the sports they participate in it's not gonna work.
I realize teams are fighting for recruits but for the common good teams have to work together to make it sustainable.
It should never be about who wants to buy the best team.
Has to be some kind of multi year commitment from player to school in this environment to make it work. Even in professional sports there is player/team commitment set up in the contracts they sign.

Oklahoma (and Georgia) v. the board of regents began the decline of college football.
Hopefully TN, VA et al. v. NCAA will begin to right the ship.

The problem is the NCAA is just the schools. It's the member institutions themselves.
Maybe this is an opportunity to revamp things, but always remember: the state of things is how the schools want things to be. Never let them convince you it's the schools versus the NCAA.

The only thing they are doing is hurting themselves. Do Tenn and the Virginia schools think they will compete with the Texas usc, osu Michigan schools if it’s a spend at will?

Ncaa deserves to die. Sec and big10 should form their own and separate from the rest of the nation

They can if they want to. Tennessee has multiple billionaires living in the state. Alabama by contrast only has one.

Alabama calling Tennessee cheaters.
Well if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black.
