This lawsuit is a statement that solidifies the already well-known fact that East Tennessee rules the whole state. There may be 3 stars on the flag, but East Tennessee is the daddy.

As far as higher education is concerned, no shite. UTK is the flagship university of the State. This isn't some secret. As far as everything else is concerned in the State, no that isn't accurate.

I take it that you don’t enjoy seeing your team’s games on tv every week. You can thank UGA and Oklahoma for having the guts to take on the NCAA. They paid a price for years by being put on the NCAAs enemies list

Rumor has it that 30 to 40 Attorney Generals will join the lawsuit.

They are the flagship in the university system. Vandy is a private institution.

East TN sets the tone and policy of the state. Sure Nashville is the capital and Memphis is in the news but the average Tennessean is the East Tennessee person. If on the State of Franklin had survived.

People will whine but the only way to fix the current system is to blow it up.

The system is barely hanging on and the NCAA was stupid for trying to bring out the hammer on someone.

I thought the NCAA could right itself after Alston but instead of having a plan (something they had decades to work on) they abandoned college sports and said "follow your state laws on NIL." Well schools did just that while the NCAA ran to congress for help. Now the NCAA wants us to forget all about that and pretend the rules they recently created apply retroactively AND that the world hasn't changed post-Alston.

I don't see how any faith can be restored at this point. Daddy went out for a pack of smokes five years ago then came home and now wants to beat on his 17 year old 6 foot 6 son. It ain't happening.

Too bad that Knoxville was not located in the State of Franklin. Most true ETN people do not consider Knoxville the east part of the state since it did not represent the original group that settled there.

UNC did not violate NCAA laws since the benefit that was at the center was given to non-athletes as well. Pretty to determine once that was established the NCAA no longer had authority over academic issues.

This case even though I doubt will ever be a cause for concern falls under the NCAA jurisdiction so do not confuse it with what happened at UNC.
