IMO Gator defense will likely perform much worse than they did in Neyland last year.
IMO Tennessee's offense will perform much better than last year.
We didn't play Dobbs in our game last year so all of your talk here is moot.

Your defense is not as good as Alabama's so I think your predictions might be off a bit.
Alabama was #12 in total defense, UF was #15. It's not like Alabama's defense was worlds better than Florida last year. They gave up about 10 less rushing yards per game.
The big thing was they had an offense to back them up.

Justin Coleman was oft-maligned the entire time he was on the field. Yes, he made some good plays and some picks, but he consistently got beat deep as well. He just wasn't a typical SEC starter in terms of talent or speed. I think whoever wins his spot will be better than him, but it will probably take a few games to get the kinks out. Will it happen by the time we roll down to UF? Who knows?

Florida has no where near the amount of talnent that Tennessee does at WR
This is true, however thankfully for UF, Florida has 4 or more guys to cover your wide receivers. Tennessee has one.

Just because you want it to be so doesn't make it so.
I just don't understand how you can automatically assume UF will play worse. I can understand the thought that UT may play better... but why not Florida too? The game is in Gainesville after all. Statistically, UF was much better playing at home last year than on the road, not that that is much of a surprise.

Just stop. Bama was up 27-0. They could've put up 50 if they wanted to.
It was 27-20 three minutes into the third quarter. Stop acting like Alabama blew out Tennessee like they did Florida.

Florida-Bama was 21-21 midway through the 3rd quarter

The old Tennessee optimism. Never goes away, always fails.

It was 21-21 with 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter UF vs Alabama. I guess that means UF is awesome now.

No, your team will still suck.

Jalen Tabor, Quincy Wilson, and VH3 are going to erase people at WR this year.
Keanu Neal and Marcus Maye are going to be a brutal combination at safety, and Brian Poole is probably the best or 2nd best nickel in the entire conference.
This secondary is going to be disgusting.

I think we win because our offense (hopefully) will be clicking after the OU game. I think UF has very good DBs to keep our WRs in check so it'll boil down to our run game which should be very solid barring injuries. I think the VOLS D will be much improved and UF will be breaking in a new oline for the most part which should favor us. However, I can't discount that UF has the mental upper hand as of late. I'm really excited for this game and much like the UGA game I think it'll be really close regardless of which team comes out on top.

Good post
I think it'll be one of those "first team to 21 points wins" kind of games.
Florida 21
Tennessee 13

UF lost a lot of talent off that D from last year. They also lost one of the best defensive minds in all of football. Also last year at the time our OL was an absolute mess and we were playing a QB that didn't fit our scheme or help any of our weaknesses on O. I believe UF has a good defense, but in our game last year they played GREAT. So in my eyes I expect their performance to be worse in our matchup this fall.
At the time we played last year like I said before our OL was only a few games into playing together. Hurd was banged up and didn't play much in our game. Worley was a sitting duck and our O was sputtering against teams that rushed the QB well. This year we have a one two punch of elite RB's (assuming they are healthy at the time of KO) and an even deeper more talented WR core. We have a QB who looks on the verge of greatness and fits our offense perfectly. So for those reasons I expect our O to play MUCH better this fall.
I do agree that your O will have a bit more success this fall moving the ball, but I think you give up about the same amount of TO's due to your QB situation and our ability to get after the QB. Then this year we will be able to actually capitalize on those mistakes. We will silence the swamp pretty early IMO.
Also, last year TN was coming off 4 QTR thriller between the hedges where they had to play against Gurley and Chubb and our O had their best game of the season with a lot of our key players getting banged up along the way. UF had a bye week and was playing to save their coach and played thier second best game of the season.
This fall UF will be coming off a dangerous road trip to UK where they could either lose and come in floundering or at least will probably have to play a pretty tough game.
TN will be coming off a game where our starters likely won't even have to play more then 2 or 3 series against Western Carolina.
Also the game is in the swamp and at this point in the streak playing at home is adetriment to TN in this match up. The nerves are palpable in Neyland in these games and the team plays as tight as the crowed feels. I think we'll come out on a mission to shut up the Gator crowd and play angry.
So all this is to say that this is a very TN side view of things but a lot of logical reasons why I expect a much better outing for TN this fall vs. the Gators.

While UF does have very good DBs it's not like Sutton is our only competent corner. Other than WR i would say our secondary is the deepest/strongest aspect of our team (other than maybe pass rush).

With Dobbs, Kamara, and Hurd in the backfield and Dobbs running the triple option. We don't have to throw.
