Considering that, according to the SECR, A&M is going to be a middle of the road team again and Manziel is literally going to get murdered on the field now that Joeckel and Moore are gone, I think he's asking a fair question.

One that has been posed in approximately 100 other threads. The only point of posting it again is to troll which is why this thread is going the way it is.

Miles will never recover from losing all those Nick Saban recruits.

The final Saban recruits are gone and LSUs destiny is on the horizon.

1990's here we come.

Russell Shepard WR - seldom used, but talented, was the safety on KO coverage and saved a few returns in that spot
Drew Alleman K - FGs and PATs, our KO guy will handle that now
Rockey Duplessis S - ST player only
Tyler Edwards TE - Was not eligible last year
PJ Longeran C - Solid player, played through many injuries, his replacement got a ton of work
Josh Dworaczyk OG - 6th year versatile guy, more talented guys replacing him, but was valuable with his experience
Alex Hurst OT - left the team halfway through season
Josh Downs DT - high motor guy, but never made a huge impact
Chancey Aghayere DE - became way more valuable as a senior, played both E and T
Chase Clement TE - Starting TE, mean streak guy, brought in a JC guy to replace his role
Lavar Edwards DE - chronically underrated, was always behind better players, but could be an NFL player himself, ridiculous athlete. He's the depth that's hard to replace

I was about to post about discounting Wing. Those punts of his really flip a field. That will be missed. I remember when we lost Lechler and it really made a difference in field position. Good punters are a strong weapon, albeit not a sexy one.

eh...

ATLANTA — He wears the same jersey number, comes from the same country and has a similar build.

Monday night at the Georgia Dome, backup LSU punter Jamie Keehn showed he can punt the football very much like Brad Wing as well.

Keehn punted nine times in LSU’s 25-24 loss to Clemson, averaging 44.6 yards per boot and twice placing the ball inside the 20 yard-line.

“You can just see in his future, he’s going to be a dynamic punter, just everything that we need,” LSU coach Les Miles said. “This was a great experience for him.”

Keehn, 6-foot-4, 222 pounds, got the chance to show off his powerful right leg because Wing was suspended for Monday’s game after violating an unspecified team rule.

If his countryman opts to leave LSU for the NFL instead of returning for his junior season, the performance by Keehn may have very well been a preview of things to come.

Keehn, who competed in rowing and track and field at his Australian high school, arrived on LSU’s campus in 2012 having very little experience as a punter.

Expected to spend his first season as a redshirt, Keehn instead served as LSU’s punter for two games.

The freshman punted three times for a 41-yard average in the opener versus North Texas with Wing sidelined by a hamstring injury. Then came Monday night and the nine-punt effort.

Keehn’s longest punt against Clemson was a 58-yarder in the second quarter.

“There were a couple I’d like to take back, but I think every punter has their ups and downs,” Keehn said of his performance. “I’ve only been doing this for 18 months, so I know I have a long spring ahead of me and a lot of work to do.”

Alot of those guys were the same ones who, as sophmores, got LSU to 12-1 in 2011. LSU will simply insert the next one in the pecking order. They'll be fine.

The reason I inlcuded Wing in the "non impact" group along with Ford and Ware is because we saw his replacement in the bowl game. He can boom it like Wing just needs to work on consistency but I don't think there'll be much of a drop off.

Kicks an average of 44 yards on his punts and is big enough to lay a nice lick on the returner.

Best wishes to Brad Wing and hello Jamie Keehn.

How much talent can LSU afford to lose? Will they even be competitive next year?

You are obviously new to this conference. This is the way it works in the big boy world. We simply reload. By the way, including all of these juniors leaving, we still have 14 starters returning. 9 on offense and 5 on defense. We will be just fine buddy. This is what a real football program looks like.
