15-0 should be everyone's expectations based on what their team reporters are saying. If not, they are doing it wrong.

Dupre will start in the slot most likely.

I think towards the middle of the season Dupre will have won back that edge starting position. He's too dominant and consistent not to be on the field in the 2 wr sets. My theory that chark jumping him is more because of how good he does in practice. When the game starts however Dupre is one of those guys you need on the field, especially if the game's on the line.

Dural and Chark have a similar skill set too, being vertical speed. Dupre is more of a possession, deep crossing route WR. Diarse is a physical guy who can play across the middle leaving Tyron Johnson and Quinn as the slot/underneath guys.

True story. I know our homer pay boards are through the roof in all the talk of the next big 1st team All-SEC players we have as backups.

We are terrible. O-line is in shambles. RB's are slow and continually fumble. Wr's can't get off the line and are running terrible routes. D-line is slow and fat. LBers are slow and can't tackle. Db's might be ok but need to quit claiming DBU. Kicking is so bad we might just go on 4th downs. I see 3 wins at the most.

Too many options to say.... Could be Hatcher, Reed, Hunter Henry, or Jojo Robinson.....

Our DL and CBs are stacked..... Deepest Arkansas has ever been at those positions.

We have absolutely no depth at LBs at all.... Brooks Ellis may end up leading the SEC in tackles, but besides him everyone is a ?

The WRs are starting to come around..... Jojo Robinson has had a very good camp. Dominique Reed has been making plays. And Bielema himself has said Keon Hatcher has been outstanding.

Hatcher, Sprinkle, Henry, Dominique Reed, all look SEC ready as receivers/tight ends. The O Line looks very salty. Tretola and Kirkland look like NFL Pro Bowlers. The D Line has tremendous depth. The secondary is flying all over the place, we got about 3 corners and 3 safeties that are as good as any we've had in a while. The real position battle is going on with the linebackers, with Brooks Ellis sliding over from MLB to Weakside Linebacker, Kahlia Hackett, Dre Greenlaw, Josh Harris among the many trying to win those other two positions.

Arky - QB, wr, defense as whole.

QB - Allen has really come along, and just threw his first practice pick today in several months. However, there's a question mark behind them, since we haven't heard much about Austin Allen.

WR - Keon Hatcher has stood out, along with JUCO Dominique Reed. TEs are beasting.

Think I've also heard that Jojo's played better then anyone, but I may be wrong. I just remember being surprised, since Reed's received so much attention.

Read somewhere that the linebacker positions are set today and we're working to slim the receiver rotation down to 5 or 6, who will receive the most reps.

Set yes but the jury is out on how good the 2nd team is right now. I saw a couple of folks give less than favorable reviews of our walk-on MLB.

True, but I take solace in the coaches knowing who will play where. That may not be much, but it is progress.

First, the DL is destroying the OL every day, 1 on 1, in practice. McKenzie, Phillips, and Barnett all seem especially dominant. That being said, I only have confidence in 3 of our OL, Kerbyson, Roberson, and Kendrick. I do think the DL will be ridiculous... I just hope the OL can get to average or a little above. OL will feature 3 true freshmen in the 2-deep. Looks to be the only liability position-wise.

WRs look great, especially sophomore Josh Malone. Preston Williams and Juan Jennings seem like they will be the real deal. North is banged up. Enough depth and talent at the position to withstand injuries though.

QB - Dobbs looks to be stronger and more accurate throwing the football. CBJ finally has confidence in a QB going into the season. Dormady, true EE freshman, is firmly planted as the 2nd stringer. He is big, deceptively athletic, and has a great arm. We really need Dobbs to stay healthy though.

RB - Hurd and Kamara will both be great. Problem is, there doesn't appear to be anyone very impressive behind them. Very little depth, but Hurd, at 242 lbs, will punish opposing LBs and DBs. Kamara possesses speed that UT hasn't seen at RB since LaMarcus "Cocaine" Coker.

DE - Barnett, Maggitt, and Phillips will be ridiculous. Barnett is unblockable one on one. Phillips, though only a freshman, has the coaches raving about his talent and work ethic. Fortunately, there will be a 3rd and long package implemented that will allow 4 DEs on the field at once to rush the passer.

DT - Tennessee hasn't had talent and depth at DT like this in a decade. It will feature a 6 man rotation: O'Brian, McKenzie, Tuttle, Mixon, Vickers, and Williams. McKenzie claims to be at 330, but his teammates all say he is 350+. Stripling says he is raw, but he's never seen a DT like him before. In totality the DL will undoubtedly be the strength of this team.

LB - UT will run a base 4-2-5, so it will primarily feature 2 LBs... JRM is fantastic, but there is just a lot of young talent behind him. Freshman Darren Kirkland Jr. and RS Freshman Dillon Bates will likely get the start at MLB. Lot of depth at this position.

CB - Cam Sutton will be one of the best in the nation. Justin Martin and Emmanual Moseley are both very talented as sophomores. Moseley has been shutting our WRs down in practice and scrimmage situations, so I'd imagine he starts opposite Sutton. Gaulden, a sophomore, will start at NB. He excels in run support.

S - Features a great blend of leadership and talent. Seniors Brian Randolph and LaDarrel McNeil will start, but the rotation will be 4 guys deep. Sophomores Evan Berry and Todd Kelly Jr. will be 2nd string. I think the minutes will be divided up pretty evenly though, as the sophomores appear to be the more talented safeties.

TAMU break down of new defense. RB situation. Will Carson be more of a focus.

You hit the big 'un right away. Our D would be better even with Snyder still DC simply because all those freshman starters are now sophomores. I don't think anybody is expecting miracles yet, but just being respectable (say 50-60 range instead of 102nd total defense) we DO expect, and that will be a big improvement. CB is a concern. LB too, but less so.

Tra Carson and James White (possibly Kendall Bussey if either of those are injured) should see much more action this year. As big as the John Chavis hire was, I'm just as pumped about bringing in Dave Christensen (OL and run-game coordinator).

Other than CB A&M's biggest problem is the head-case kicker. I can see us losing close games because of this. We do have an incoming freshman who is supposed to be pretty good, but I don't think he'll get a shot until Bertolet blows a game.

Not going to rehash it all, but I pretty much agree with everything said by my fellow Auburn posters other than Rocky. I don't see anyone going undefeated in the SEC this year.

Also, upvoted for legitimate discussion which is a rarity on this site these days.

Can't wait for the season to start and watch all the teams play. My Tigers are my first love in football, but I also love watching the SEC as a whole.

Would like to hear you briefly discuss what you have been hearing about your team through the practice reports. What to expect and from whom. Not blind homerism but the good and the bad. Quick summaries or bullet points are a plus.

Chavis thinks our 3 best DEs are among the best in the country, and he think Myles Garrett will be the best player in the country. Daylon Mack has had to drop weight and has been running out of gas, but he's been a terror. Our linebackers pass the eyeball test, but they haven't really impressed. Same with our corners. Safety is a different story. The JUCO, Justin Evans, has been one of the biggest stories, if not the biggest story on our defense.

On offense, the running game is meh, and they are trying to keep a lock down on our new two back stuff. The offensive line looks to be really solid, and our tackles are going to be filthy. At WR, Christian Kirk has been the hardest worker and wants to hit the ground running, Josh Reynolds has gained weight and now they think he's gonna leave early. Speedy/RSJ are getting a lot better.

Then QB. Kyle Allen has done everything possible to keep his job, but Kyler Murray has been amazing on the ground, scoring multiple times a practice and creating a ton of buzz. It's going to be a QB battle that lasts well in to the season, and the loser is going to transfer, IMO.

What slayerxing said. Also, the defense has had a harder time defending against the non-Muschamp-coached offense. They actually have to make reads now. From LB Jarrad Davis:

quote:

Throughout this whole camp and the past couple days they’ve been doing some things to really challenge us as a defense. So it’s not just go out there and run this way and make a play on defense. Now it’s you have to make some reads now and really get to your spot because the offense can really hurt us.
