Good fans that deserve some good football after several years of crap.

Arkansas 3-4 against Kentucky

One of the few SEC teams we have a winning record against.

Don't believe I said anything about respecting the Delta

I do think Wynne has some good folks.

And, yes, southerner for 59 years now.

Master trolls. When they're winning, there are none better. It's best to just sit back and watch lest you find yourself in their sights.

our oldest rivalry with a founding SEC member is Ole Miss

1908 was the first game, and the schedule has been off and on consistent for over a hundred years - 67 games since then

we lead the Rebels 37-29-1

My Dad hated Ole Miss (even though his little brother/my uncle went to school there) because it was during his formative years that Johnny Vaught was mostly kicking our asses

One thing about Arkansas. The pigs have never, ever lost an athletic competition. Any so-called loss was due to the opponent's cheating, corrupt officiating, or as often as not, a combination of both.

This is correct.

Thank you for acknowledging it.

Thanks for the links had not seen any modern references. I am old and grew up on the stories when my dad played in the SEC (not quite the leather helmet days but close enough) and my grandfather (grew up in the NOLA / Mobile / So MS triangle) and my great grandmother (who went from the Civil War to the Space Age) and saw much in her lifetime.

FWIW, some other tidbits you may not know

Vanderbilt (under Dr Dudley) started the SIAA, which became the SoCon, which the SEC broke away from in similar times to now (super conferences and paying players).

Vanderbilt was an early football power and had around dozen Conference Championships in the early years

TAMU and the cow school in austin were originally conference members (TAMU was a winner back then, austin was not) and austin cried boo hoo and left to form the SWC (and later got TAMU to join them).

Even before they dropped Vanderbilt to play you guys in the State Fair they thought they were better than everybody else. My guess is you guys will do fine in the SEC as you have paid your sports dues. I wonder if a decade in, if austin will once again run away because they can not dominate. I will probably not live to see it but hopefully this time TAMU and you guys will stay behind and let austin leave.

Direct answer to OP's request:

Hog fans are pretty unique in that they'll support anything with a Razorback on it.

Basketball, Baseball, Football, Softball, Track, Golf...it doesn't matter the hog fans will turn out.

It gets crazy when Arkansas has a good team or plays a good team. See Texas game last year for a preview of what it will typically be like when OU comes to Fayetteville.

There's no professional sports, so all the fan enthusiasm pretty much goes full on Woo Pig. There are about 16 Arkansas State fans that will try to argue, but even they are pretty half hearted.

We hate Texas with a passion. Therefore we respect and like OU. Expect a knock down drag out war, but we'll always hate Texas more than we will you.

We don't like Ole Miss. We find LSU amusing. We respect Bama (in football anyway). But...we hate Texas.

This is a very jaded board to get a clear picture about stuff like imo. Arkansas fans are legit from my experiences. Got a lot of extended family that lived in and around Rogers/Fayetteville, and Bentonville. (spelling?)

They're all real fans, and as far as "fan-atics" go, they're very down to earth.

Even more surprised Hogs have played this much! Being against a team from the East and probably not much contact before joining the SEC

They were our permanent rival from the east from '92 until 2012 since we joined the SEC together.

We also have a winning record over Ole Miss so it's 5, not 4. Nutt went something like 9-1 against Mississippi State when they had Croom in the 2000's so it was even more lopsided until the last 10 years.

You know this is not true!

Spoiler Alert, Hog fans please read no further as it may cause emotional stress (especially in older Hog fans who were alive to bear witness)

The games were so heated between the teams back in the 60s that they stopped playing each other for 20 years.
