Would Cam Newton have been shut down if he came back for another year?

He wouldn't have come close to the numbers he put up the year before.

After his Heisman Trophy winning season in 2007, Florida and Tim Tebow still managed to somehow scrape by with 27 wins and just 1 loss in the following two seasons.

Tim finished 3rd in the Heisman voting in 2008 and 5th in 2009.

Tebow managed 3419 total yards and 42 total TDs in 2008. He also accumulated 3805 total yards and 35 total TDs in 2009.

The only real statistical discrepancy you'll see is his yards per carry from his Heisman-winning season in 2007 to 2008. His average fell from 4.3 to 3.8.

Basically, great players are gonna be great no matter what you do to prepare.

I know, I know, tl;dr.

I have to say, as strange as some of their traditions are, my group had a great time at College Station and the aggie fans were very hospitable.

Would do again and I look forward to entertaining them in BR in 2013.

Keep JM running and rolling out 50+ plays a game in the SEC.
The rest of us know what will happen when you lose your two first rounders on the OL next year.
See you at Gomer Kyle field next year!

Love the MALE yell leaders!!

Our schedule next year is much more favorable than this year. We have Johnny for 3 more years....our tackles can come back for their senior year. Recruiting is better than ever. The Texas A&M threat isn't going anywhere swamp cat.

HE'S GOING TO GET INJURED AGAINST LSU.. CAN'T KEEP THIS UP

JOHNNY'S GOING TO GET GRINDED... NO WAY HE MAKES IT OUT OF STARKVILLE

WHEN JOHNNY COMES INTO BDS HE WILL LEAVE ON A CART AND BE AIRLIFTED TO THE NEAREST HOSPITAL

OP's got a great point. Also, we should not expect a QB to improve from his freshman to his soph year. And we should not expect a coach to improve from his first year to his second. And it probably won't matter that Brandon Williams will be eligible next year, nor any of the other of the legions of players returning.

Johnny has improved as a passer. Imagine 3 more years under Larry Jackson. Yea, scary.

A&M's success or lack there of will really depend on what both tackles decide going into next year. If they lose both, that means they lose Michael, 3 starting OL including 2 best OL and 3 of Top 5 WRs. That will be rough. I wonder if Malena may test the NFL waters because he knows Manziel likes to do all the running himself.

Considering the rude awakening should have been this year......I'll look for a brighter year next year.

So you think there's no dropoff if both OTs declare (Definitely losing center), losing 3 of top 5 WRs and possibly top 2 RBs?

Damn, considering we're the only team in the SEC that's loosing talented seniors on both side of the ball, next year looks pretty bleak.

First you assume both OTs - who will each have bothers on the team next year - are leaving. Now apparently you've decided Malena is gone even though there has been absolutely zero rumor of that.

Even if he does, RB will not be a concern at all next year.
