Andy Cannizaro will recruit like a mad man soon. All those Ole Miss recruits will say " Damn, I want part of this."

Not saying it's a bad place to watch a game, just saying I prefer Ole Miss' gameday atmosphere because it feels more like baseball. NASCAR is great but not for baseball games.

As stated earlier, tossing beer into the air..that's OM's baseball "tradition" they so brilliantly came up with.
And I get it, student section gonna student section but that's just a really dumb celebration. That's not tradition.
And I suppose it makes you rebels feel better to make fun of the left field lounge rigs because they're old. Let's see..NASCAR redneck deck , etc. Thanks for your expert opinion****
Think I'll go with the national sports publications, opinions, as well as my own experience(been to many games at swayze and the box) that Dudy Noble is the best college baseball atmosphere in the country.
And read that again, nowhere does it say the "best stadium", don't worry though, spring of 2019 will be here soon and that will then be true.
And as for game day atmosphere, it's cute that OM thinks theirs is superior.
Sure, Bianca has done a respectable job with the program and bringing in some talent, I'll admit that.
For years State has garnered all this national attention about our baseball program and ballpark/atmosphere so little brothers in oxford couldn't stand to be out done by the, "leg humpers" did I get that right?
And as far as crowds are concerned, everyone in college baseball inflates those numbers. Lsu is king of that shite and now with OM right on their heels.
Bottom line, if you have a good team and win games( WIN being the keyword there) you will have big crowds.
Had we not re-hired Polk back in '02 and brought in someone who actually recruited outside of his summer camps, that wouldn't have opened the door for the little bit of success(mostly post season choke jobs) OM experienced in the early and mid 2000's which, in turn, jumpstarted your baseball program.

I like you better when you're MullenBoys
I'm not going to argue baseball atmosphere or stadiums... The SEC has the best and MSU, LSU , South Carolina, Arkansas, aTm and Ole Miss are all there at the top... There's pros and cons to each stadium but they're all spectacular in their own ways.
I really like where our program is right now... These last 2 classes Bianco brought in have been loaded with talent... D1Baseball feels that we're still a year away and they might be right... Perfect Game feels that we're a legit contender for Omaha this season which sounds good to me.

To each his own. Wait until you see the things like restrooms (first class) and a unique experience in concessions etc. Plus some surprises for even the oppenents to experience. It will hands down be the #1 ball park in the nation with our fans and opponents alike.
We'll still share that BBQ and Sausage etc with opposing fans but done with class. I can't wait.
The only people I can't wait to get feed back from are the LSU fans during a game experience. They will appreciate it more than most.

And what was that racial slur a few years ago at a baseball player?
That was Albert Belle. At Mississippi State. In Left Field at Dudy Noble.

how does LSU inflate their numbers more than anyone else? Everyone tracks paid attendance in every sport.

not necessarily. Florida doesn't

to be fair, it was in the SECT in Athens, but yes it was a Mississippi State fan. That would also be Albert Belle's last game as a college player

I agree state has accomplished more than ole miss has in baseball....i agree state has a top notch baseball atmosphere
But my thing is ya'll have all that but some of your fans are still having a 2-3 page argument in a troll thread regarding a baseball stadium haha. Just seems "i'm bored what can i get mad at today. ooo TSUN topic, I'M IN"

You are right...
quote:
Spring 1987: Albert, playing for LSU, goes into the stands at Mississipi State to chase after a fan who had been yeling racist names at him, calling him "Buckwheat."
quote:
Finally, in the spring of 1987, there came what may have been a crucial moment in Belle's development. It also turned out to be the final game of his college career. Playing against Mississippi State in the SEC tournament in his junior year, only a few weeks before the major league draft, Belle, the only black on the LSU team, lost his cool. After being heckled for a few innings by a fan using racial slurs, Belle took off from right field and ran into the stands after the fan, and had to be restrained by teammates. Belle stayed in the game and in his final at-bat hit a deep fly to left. Thinking it was a home run, Belle jogged toward first and had to hold there when the ball stayed in the park. Bertman suspended him after the game, and Belle missed the NCAA Regionals and the College World Series. "He had been under an edict that if he did it one more time, he couldn't play," Bertman told the Plain Dealer. "I thought it would be good for him as he got ready for the pros. I thought I was doing the right thing. Evidently it >>>didn't work. Evidently it was deeper-seeded.

The only decent thing about the stadium is the berm. However, getting doused with beer would be really annoying.

A. Ole Miss fans aren't the only ones that make fun of them.
B. It isn't because they're old....it's because it looks like a bunch of shite nailed together from some guys farm in Hatley.

*one of...
The same publications that's written about Dudy Noble has written about a few other stadiums like Swayze, Box, etc.
...is this one of those things like in football where MSU fans claim only Ole Miss fans love the grove but ignore national articles about how amazing it is?

Let me guess, this thread is full of mad State fans.

Be nice. The options for entertainment in Lafayette County, Mississippi are as follows:
1. Go to Walmart.
2. Get drunk.
3. Get drunk and go to Walmart.

extremely. I'm guessing they're short tempered from all the splinters and tetanus they got from building their LFL rigs this past weekend.

We aren't poor. Cheap beer is cheap.
I guess our students are smart enough to realize there are companies that will continue making cheap beer and aren't really worried about it.
Get a job.
Hippy...

Oh, look, Numberwang is bashing Oxford again based on his preconceived notions of what the town is and represents.
Water is wet.
Numberwang is hella rustled. This is like year two or three of your "Oxford sucks and Ole Miss students and fans are poor as dirt" melt. Time to move on, brotha.
