At one time or the other it has had 3 different rounds which were used in the Lugar. The 9mm Luger is the longest lasting. It has since been used in many modern guns. The Killer used a 9mm to kill those guys at Auburn.

Yes, lets blame the Athens PD yet once again. It was all their fault that Crowell was cruisin' around at 3 in the morning with a gun with the serial number scratched off.

I'm not blaming the police Donald. The point I was making is that Athens is literally riddled with bars/entertainment venues

Here was the quote:

, why do you think UGA continues to have (seemingly, at least) more off-field discipline issues than anyone else in conference? Have you ever been to Athens?

Nobody elses campus come close to Athens as far as the opportunity's there are to put yourself in a situation that could end up with you in trouble. There is no disputing that. So that is a factor in my opinion.

It all boils down to being young, and stupic, and coming from a culture in which these types of things are glorified. It sickens me really. Is Richt too soft, in my opinion, YES. But let's not kid ourselves like this doesn't happen at other schools. It happens everywhere, and it's a culture issue as much as it is Richt being soft.

Just going by the article I read.

Crowell was arrested on charges of “carrying a weapon in a school zone, and having an altered ID mark,”

To smoke or not to smoke is the question for college kids in general. However, college players in all sports know they will be tested eventually, so it's a matter of rolling the dice vs how much one has to lose. For one of Crowell's ability, it's a matter of how many $1000's it could cost him. It cost Honey Badger a game & a ton of positive press.

True, but I believe the Lugers chambered in .45ACP only numbered about a handful for US Army trials.

Not quite sure how this is relevant.

Ps. If they run that gun and it has been used in a unsolved shooting the price of tea just went through the roof. He claims it was not his. But if it was in his car it will be concidered his unttil he proves otherwise.

I figured he was something along those lines when his next post was about the gun possibly being used in another crime.

I figured it was just the media again showing their ignorance of firearms. You'd think they'd actually fact check their articles before they submit them.

This is true. Of course, there were TONS of odd calibers back then.

If it was a Luger, doesnt that pretty much mean it's a war relic. I would suspect that could possibly mitigate the serial number aspect. Although it is clearly a law to not have a gun without a serial

I have no clue. It would be interesting to see if it was loaded. Maybe he was using it simply for the threat of it than he actually intended to ever use it? Either way its dumb.

Yep. And if it really was a Luger, it's a damn shame that it's going to just rot away in a police evidence locker.
