i personally don't know why they came down so hard on him for it. what the hell else do people do at alumni social events. they need to cut sark some slack.

Rumor is he partied hard at UW too and the boosters were ready to cut him loose before USC hired him. In the MSB thread a UW fan said the breaking point was when he showed up wasted to Don James's funeral and tried to start a Go Huskies chant

No, especially since that program has been wheels off for a while now.

This. Plus his desire to "party" with the coeds is costing him his marriage.

quote:

USC coach Steve Sarkisian and his wife, Stephanie, are in the process of getting a divorce, according to Conquest Chronicles/SB Nation. The couple has three children. Sarkisian’s management firm provided a statement to the website:

“It is our desire to protect the privacy of our children and each other. Our goal is to raise our children in a joint, cooperative style as caring and loving parents. Thank you for respecting our family’s privacy. We will have no further comment.”

Not only is Sarkisian’s behavior embarrassing for a program but it's caused him to have no control over his players or his program. His players ran wild & that was the main factor why his Washington teams underachieved despite being a talented squad.

quote:

After taking the Huskies job in December, Petersen was stunned, UW insiders said, at the lack of player discipline and accountability within the program he inherited from Sarkisian.

“We’re just trying to do things the best we can and treat each other correctly and be the best team we can be,” Petersen said Thursday. “I hope everybody feels that, and I hope we’re better as we move forward.”

Rick Neuheisel, the former UW and UCLA coach, said coaching transitions are difficult no matter who’s involved, but he said he had a feeling early that the Huskies’ transition could be especially difficult given the differences in the approaches of the two head coaches.

“This is not a shock,” said Neuheisel, now an analyst for the Pac-12 Networks. “I’ve said before that this was going to be (the Huskies’) biggest challenge, going from a coach who was very player-friendly, very lenient in Sarkisian — not that that makes him a bad guy — but he was trying to get good players. And players were supposed to toe the line, and when they didn’t it wasn’t the end of the rope for them. …

While BadAgg7 thinks that behavior is awesome, it is detrimental to a program & like cancer, it will eat at a team from the inside out.

I think part of the outrage is that he wasn't reprimanded at all.

i never said it was the right way to do things, i think it's funny as hell.

i'm not driven in my daily life to go around pointing fingers saying who should be acting in what way. it's not my fricking business.

if they don't want him at usc, they'll fire him. I they still want him to coach, he'll stick around. either way, my opinion on how sark should behave doesn't matter, but i will get a laugh out of it.

Until Sumlin wins something, it doesn't really matter.

Define trouble. AFAIK he wasn't penalized other than his team making him do up-downs.

You could set your watch to the predicted responses of LSU fans re: anything A&M-related.
It borders on miraculous

Meh, I wasn't flaming. It's an honest comment. Same holds true for Bert and several others. Win a title and then talk.
