As a Gamecock fan, something tells me Spurrier isn't quite done in college football yet.
Some of our fans are calling to put banners up, statues up, renaming roads and fields for him. While the sentiment is nice, maybe they should wait to see what could be up his sleeves first.
The players both current and former getting on Twitter and vocalizing their disappointment along with some even blatantly saying they should have chosen another school before this announcement is another possible reason for this abrupt decision.
The very first thing he said today was he is not retiring. He is resigning.

After reading all 13 page of this thread I have 2 observations: 1) the HBC will be missed. The man was a legend that I wish I'd gotten to see live at Kyle field. He's probably one of the most respected and beloved personalities in the sec. 2) LSU fans are 50% good people, and 50% whiny bitches who are still sore from the poundings in the 90s.
Those beat downs by Florida will never be forgotten but I never held that against HBC/OBC/SOS. He put USCe football on the map.
