If I had to live in Memphis I think i would go for midtown. That's where the bars and restaurants I liked were. Not sure if that is still the case. I am not a fan of the Memphis downtown area.

I hate downtown Memphis. If I move up there it'll probably be to midtown. Like you said, there's a lot to do down there.

yeah I don't get it.

I lived there from '87-'06, and I would never live in the area again. There are much better options in Memphis.

Hickory Hill used to be a decent area too, as did Frayser and Whitehaven. Cordova is heading in that direction.

It's the new hood. Plus, it's the popular home invasion area.

Move to Cordova then.

They've just had the one, haven't they? Off Walnut Bend?

Cordova used to be nice. Then it got all commercial and started going downhill. There's still some nice areas, I guess. But then I remember when Germantown Road was 2 lane all the way to the interstate, you had to go to Stonebridge to get on said interstate, Walnut Grove and Germantown Road was a 4 way stop and there was one or maybe two subdivisions between Walnut Grove and what was then Auburndale school off of Germantown road... way back before Memphis even thought about annexing, and therefore ruining, Cordova.

Anytime an indoor mall is built in an area in Memphis, the inevitable decline of said area begins.

Seems that way. I guess Laurelwood would be the exception? But, isn't the Oak Court mall kind of sketchy now? I haven't been up there in years, but my daughter looked at my funny when I mentioned going there one time.

That's why I said indoor. Laurelwood, Carriage Crossing, and Saddle Creek are not indoor malls.

Oak Court is pretty shady. I still like that Macy's the best though.
