Me neither. But it explains the graphic pics. His lower leg was essentially detached from his upper leg except for soft tissue.
I know. The pics are crazy. I'm just really shocked that its a femur fracture.

What kind of student is Lattimore? Not shitting on anyone, just curious if he had put all his hopes on playing football and was in a bullshite major with a crap gpa to get by.

We won't see him on a football field again. I hope I'm wrong. Such a shame.

Oh, believe me, I know, but I was also thinking more about the cartledge (sp?) in the knee and just how much damage it took, which they won't know for sure until they cut him open, I'm sure.

Awful. Just awful. That was a hard thing to watch. Hope it all works out for him, he deserves better.

I have no idea. Maybe some USC fans can answer that.

Like I said, you'd be surprised. The Wizard's Shaun Livingston is an example of some amazing things they can do in cases where you pretty well tear everything in your knee.

Modern medicine can do amazing things.
eh there is only so much a doctor/surgeon can do, unfortunately.

Our guy Josey tore the ACL, MCL, and Patellar last year. And he is able to do sprints right now.. obviously less severe but still..
Lattimore is likely done, but if surgeries go perfect combined with his character you can't rule it out yet.

Let's hope he can recover fully and complete his education. Sounds like a good young man from his bio on gamecocksonline...
PERSONAL: Marcus Lattimore is working on a degree in public health... regarded as an excellent bowler... spends time in the community speaking to church and youth groups.
He seems to be the kind of guy that will make it through this situation.

He would qualify for a medical hardship scholly, and if Carolina is like Arkansas, money will show up to help a former player finish their degree once their eligibility expires.

He'll be lucky if he can even run/climb stairs again, much less play football.

He is a class guy. He had a 3.3 GPA in HS, and I don't know what his college GPA is, but he is a hero all throughout South Carolina.

i can't imagine what's going throug his head right now
10am you are getting ready to play tennessee, you are a few games away from hiring an agent going to the nfl
10pm, you are trying to find out what you are doing for the rest of your life.
if usc is anyting like arknasas, he gets his degree he will be well, well taken care of. will be working in someone's office telling mofos what to do for 150k a year by the time he's 30

I hate to hear this. He was an excellent football player who will likely never play again. I hope he finishes his degree and that he took an insurance policy out on himself.

With a broken femur, he's fortunate to still be alive. Had he ruptured his femoral artery, they might not have been able to stop the bleeding.

I'm sure that they can fix the ligaments in his knee and a fracture will heal.
Eta: His football career is most likely over.

It's a part of the game that simply sucks.
This was the worst I've ever seen.
