You can't compare this. This is so stupid.

It's hardly even the same game anymore. Scholarships, the forward pass, etc.

What Ohio St did to Bama in the second half was a stomping. You can say the score was close, but once the game got into a rhythm Ohio St stomped, outcoached, and outclassed bama

Saban has a room in OBCs' head and has never paid a cent of rent.

Fine, compare both coaches to Bowden then. Neither man compares with him either. I would like to see Saban or Meyer try to finish in the top 5 for 14 straight years or win eight major bowl games in nine years like Bowden did.

Ok. It should be pointed out the HBC did not actually say that Urban is the "greatest coach of all time" though.

He left the game in 1982 so it's closer to the same game than you think.

1. The forward pass had been invented and Bryant had been using it.
2. Every other coach was operating under the same rules and restrictions.

He was coaching at a time when football was going through evolution after evolution (two platoon system, integration, etc.) and he continued to win despite the changes to the game. You can't say that for every head coach.

Bryant was a master at adaptation and motivation. It was always said that Bryant could beat you with his players and then could turn around and beat you with your players.

And yet Alabama still had a chance to tie it up with just over a minute left to play. OSU outplayed us in the second half but I wouldn't call it a stomping.

They're both better than Bowden, no question. He was overrated without Richt as oc.

Edit: And both also have more titles despite not coaching nearly as long. You Bammers can't have it both ways.

"THE all-time great coach" kind of implies GOAT. It's singular and puts Meyer in a class by himself, thus making it sound like Spurrier is implying he is the greatest to ever coach the game.

If he said "AN all-time great coach" you would have a point.

No thanks. I realize you have probably become accustomed to moral victories but for me a loss is a loss. I was simply responding to the South Carolina fan who called a 7-point loss a "stomping."

So yeah, print the shirts.

wtf does this even mean? Why pretend the first half never happened?

I am by no means a Bama fan but it is a reach to call a 42-35 loss a stomping.

You watched The Video, right? Go to 11:30 seconds.

"All time" was never used in conjunction with Myers name. "The great coaches won it all this year" and "Big time coaches" were the phrases used to describe these folks, Coach K, Auriemma, Myer, Belichick and Popovich.

A phrase that still puts Meyer in a status above all other college head coaches.

No, because you can have more than one great coach at any one time. Case in point Nick Saban, Jimbo Fisher, Urban Meyer, Mark Dantonio, Bill Snyder, Spurrier, etc, etc. You can make an argument that all of them are GREAT coaches. Ever heard the phrase uttered, "Two great coaches are facing off today...."

If spurrier had said "The greatest coaches won in all this year", your statement would be correct. It's simple English comprehension. Great, Greater, Greatest. If you'd like I could let you borrow one of my 3 y/o's Curious George books. It explains it really well...

Your answer was a game played in 2010. His team won.
I speak of today. And if you don't think that there is jelly in OBCs' heart about Saban you decieve your self.
