That's my GOAT alcoholic coach.
I'm not comparing the two so don't go nuts on me for this, but do you believe Coach K is better than Wooden in CBB? I think the times have changed so much in the last few decades that it's hard to compare. There were NO scholarship limits for most of Bear's career, and the limits were more lax than they are not all the way through it.
I'm not saying Urban or Meyer are better than Bryant, but the comparison may not be 100% fair

I certainly don't want to see OSU win anymore titles, but I think the odds of it happening are pretty high. Unless Meyer has more 'health problems'.

Dumbass. He didn't say "all time", he said "big time" and included him in a list of coaches that won championships this year.

Now you've gone and done it.I guess you don't realize that The 2015 Gump Fatwa Quota hasn't been filled yet. You can't diminish The Bear, man. That's sacrosanct, supa- religulous stuff.
I complimented a guy for changing his "Salt Life" to "Saban Life" sticker yesterday in Santa Rosa and he went all Redneck- Jihadi on me.

Meyer is 13 years younger and only 1 title behind saban.
Both have won at multiple schools.
Might even be an argument for 2012 when Buckeyes weren't postseason eligible. They were the only undefeated team that season. If they were eligible, Bama wouldn't have even been in the title game.
I think it is a very valid argument. Sorry Gumps.

That OSU team had a lot of deficiencies. They will only get stronger as a program. And now that the Big Ten is stepping up (Michigan, penn State etc) they will be more battle-tested.

42-35 is hardly what I would call a stomping.
I think the 36-14 finish by Ohio State could certainly qualify as a stomping.

I don't know if he hates Coach Saban or not, but he is jealous of him. It is a shame that a man of his age and ability has to act so silly to get attention. That may have been cute when he was in college and the star player, but at 69, frankly it just seems silly. I don't imagine that Coach Saban really cares what he thinks, but in Spurrier's own little mind he thinks that he is getting to him. If he really thinks that Urban Meyer is the greatest coach, that is his right to believe that, but a great coach does not pull the sick act that Meyer did at Florida.
He hurt that program, and they are just getting back on their feet. I would think that Coach Spurrier would dislike him for what he did to his beloved Florida Gators.

Which is why I brought up luck earlier. Saban got to play in the 11 title game without even winning his division. Meyer didn't get to play in 12 because of something stupid that happened before he even got there.

Screw all that. Spurrier is an institution. There is nothing "sad" "cute" or "silly" about him. He's a freaking American Original and I salute him, even when he tweaks other coaches. No, ESPECIALLY when he tweaks other coaches. More Spurrier. When he's gone we will all miss him.

There's a big difference though. Coach K's accomplishments are very comparable to Wooden. The only clear edge Wooden has over him is championships. Meyer and Saban don't even close to Bryant by any meaningful measure. Also, Bowden, Paterno and Osborne coached well into the scholarship limit era and their accomplishments are comparable to Bryant's so the tougher era reasoning doesn't really hold much water.
