different posters have different opinions. That isn't hypocrisy, It's just two different viewpoints on why Auburn is backsliding.

Why? Clemson is favored. Why would us losing prove anything other than that they were the better team? You keep thinking that will be your "gotcha" moment though.

Tubbs was a good gameday coach but he lacked the passion that is required to recruit 365 days a year. His days were numbered since "jetgate" because I think he got bitter. Getting rid of Tubbs was the best move Auburn made in a long time, they just didn't do it the right way and looked bad in the process.
Do I think that Chizik is the best coach ever? Short answer, no. Long answer, it is too early to tell. he is smart enough to hire very good assistants. In the SEC, he needs to get his defense in order (which I think he made one hell of a step in doing so) and needs to install a more balanced and more consistant offense than we had under Malzahn (again, I think he has taken a step in the right direction).
All in all, I think Chizik has the program heading in the right direction and if the SEC picks up 2 more teams and they redistribute the divisions with Auburn going East, we could play for the SEC championship consistently. We happen to be in the toughest division in college athletics and are just behind a couple of the teams.

"We have replenished the numbers now". Not a flame but a serious question of aubbies. Gordy said at noon that AU is down to 71 scholarship players, this after CGC's 4th yr. Is this factual? If so, these are scholly numbers that schools on probation get hit with, not a school 2 yrs removed from the NC & no sanctions.

So losing one runningback and an OC that apparently was only good because of Cam means we are backsliding? Just ignore the fact that we improved our DC ,return most starters everywhere else, actually have quality depth this year and will be returning most of our players next year.
