Now with Texas A&M in the fold, Auburn is going to be increasingly marginalized.

After two rebuilding seasons AU is predicted at best an 8 win season and some sports analysis have them going 7-5.

Two rebuilding seasons?

Did 2010 magically fly away? Or have I already time-warped to 2013?

30-10 is still 30-10. A NC is a NC.

Saban's first three years he won 28 games that counted. He just benefited from winning in his third year. He backslid in his 4th.

Florida under Meyer recruited guys to run a spread, had trouble making the switch to a pro style and suffered the consequences under a new regime.

Lots of programs experience changes and don't fall off the cliff. Their offense was pitiful in Urban's last year anyway.

They definitely took a step back on defense the last two years.

Texas is probably a better (the best really) example of this. If all you looked at was the recruiting rankings from the last 15 years, you would guess that they won at least 2 or 3 NCs. Program strength has a lot more to do with player evaluation and development than what some dipshit at Rivals thinks.

Go ahead and blast me all you want but Clemson is a 3 point favorite against AU

They're also ranked 14th...

That was an insightful look at AU from a historic perspective displaying accuracy and journalistic integrity. Thank you, really, thank you.

So we're basing the success of our program on if the experts favor us over Clemson or not. Gotcha.

If by "success" you mean "winning" then yes, the odds of you being successful over Clemson is a great tool to use.

Anyone who watches Auburn and genuinely thinks that Auburn is backsliding is a fool or just lying to themselves. Very high ranked classes, a young line that might be the best we have had next year, one of the deepest and most talented group of running backs that we have had. Then you get on the defensive side of the ball that has just as much if not more talent.

You can't blame everything on Tubbs, but it is truly amazing how bad of shape one coach can leave a roster. I am not talking about talent, I am talking about just the numbers. He managed to recruit 1 offensive lineman that made it to campus his last two years. The way he left the roster combined with the lack of players left from the 09 class at this point put us in a bad place that is just tough to overcome quickly.

SEC title or national title?

Kind of hard to win the BCS without the conference title, actually, without winning your own conference, should a team even be considered for the BCS.

Just imagine how good LSU could have been for the last two years with a competent quartereback.

Believe what you want to but if I were an Aub and my team were recruiting at an above average level then I would be wanting to know why we are losing and there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

The only correct part of this statement is the recognition that Auburn is recruiting well. As you said, Auburn is recruiting well. Plus, new coordinators have been hired and the team is finally adding depth. There is definitely light at the end of the three year long tunnel that included 30 wins, three of which were bowl wins with one being a win in the national championship game.

Yeah because no team has ever exceeded expectations in the preseason. Saying a team is backsliding because they win 8 games after losing pretty much their whole starting lineup from their national championship team and because they're predicted to have a slightly above average season right after that is ridiculous.

Let me rephrase this for you Aub's that wanna deflect and deny
You have had 2 recruiting seasons since you won the National Championship and have not gotten any better than you were "pre/post Cam Newton" Chizik 2009 7-5, 2010 14-0, 2011 7-5 minus the bowl win and predicted to go 8-4 or 7-5 in 2012. The AU fans and staff continue to use the excuse about being a young team ? Chizik has been there 4 years and without Cam he would have never been better than an 7-5 or 8-4 coach.

Getting rid of Tubbs for Chiz is one of the most baffling coaching moves I have ever witnessed. I thought that when it happened and I still think that now.

All Chiz has done is written one big check and now has an army of Auburn fans following him to the promised land.
