And in one recruiting class all this was fixed? You guys must have had a killer class, right?

Well they smoked y'all the past 2 years with Treon freaking Harris at QB so I don't see why you're talking so much shite.

Sure it could happen. As for McElwain he did well his first year given the circumstances but we don't know yet if he is a great coach. Houston Nutt, WM, Dinardo... and several other mediocre coaches had at least one strong season. Let's wait before we say his coaching is a true advantage.

Would hardly call any of DL's (or my) comments "talking shite". Not going back through the whole thread, but most of it has really been pretty informed comments. Not like we came in here all "lol... you guys are a joke." It's been legitimate reasons as to "why Florida isn't being picked to win the east"... you know like the thread title suggested.

How am I talking crap? I pointed out that they have numerous holes to fix and they have not recruited well the last two years. We had Bauta starting at QB for us. It was his only start in college....ever. he was worse than Treon.

This isn't about whether Florida can beat Georgia. This is about if Florida can win the East. If he or you, don't want to hear why we think they won't win the East then you shouldn't ask. Why ask a question if you don't want the answer?

We already know McElwain can coach.

i'm not that impressed with him.

how's he doing recruiting? that'll tell the story. if FSU is still kicking UF's arse recruiting then he will flounder, imo.

And we get easy West draw this year in the rotation- frankly this year's schedule is easier than last year's.

On recruiting it's been a bit unacceptable but the 3rd is where it usually takes off and he did have to take bodies to replace all the holes Muschamp left with his massively unbalanced classes.

Ut, sc, lsu, and uga all could be tougher than last year.

With a fg kicker like peniero we automatically are better on offense and will score more points this year

Not to mention Del rio who I think will be solid when treon went in last year he couldnt see over the ol so we lost middle of the field where guys were getting open all year esp the tight ends

You realize we couldn't even kick xp's last year right

Because they aren't a good team. Got exposed when the Grieroids couldn't save them, and now they have an inexperienced QB, RB, and a worse defense. At least UGA has division winning potential if things mesh well for Kirby. They'll win if that happens and we choke.

You know a team isn't very good when their most hyped player is their kicker.

And yet they still beat your beloved Butch with Treon Harris at QB and Muschamp coaching.

shite look at the last 2 recruiting classes

15 - we got some good tailbacks cronk and scarlett

16 - we got some good wide receivers 3 in top 30 including the 2nd best in the country Tyrie Cleveland who runs 4.35 and is 6'3" also a beast outta juco named dre Massey

Got some very good tight ends too in goolsby and Lewis

Offensive line was full of young guys last year also

For being in such bad shape on offense it's the best I've seen talent wise in a long time

#1: I don't love Butch. I'm cautiously optimistic, but he still has a lot he needs to prove before I'm sold on him.

#2: A lot has changed in the 2 years since that game.

#3: UT wasn't better than UF in 2014. Or 2013 for that matter. Worley at QB really was no better than Harris. Still shouldn't have lost, but it is what it is.
(Although we were better than them in 2015 and lost. Butch, Jancek (DC) and the team all choked away a favorable situation.)

Since 2013, Florida has landed exactly two blue-chip lineman. David Sharpe, a 4-star junior, will play left-tackle and has earned praise from McElwain. Martrez Ivey, a 5-star stud, was hurt most of last year but is expected to play guard.

They have Ivey playing guard??? Seriously???

Last year you had Ole Miss at home (before Will Grier was suspended). This year you have Arkansas at Fayetteville. I think that Arkansas' style will be harder for UF to match up against than Ole Miss. Also, Arkansas will be coming off of a Bye week before the game while Florida plays Georgia the prior week. I don't know that it will be easier than last year.

You have Tennessee in Knoxville instead of Gainesville. I don't think that will be easier than last year, either.

You are getting LSU, Kentucky and South Carolina at home this year.

Year 2 of de-Muchamping is looking better for the offense so far if Del Rio can do work.

It will take another year to get all the Muschamp out and lots of bleach.
