they hired him because they wanted to, now get over it and start pulling for the team and all the coaches. other wise get lost. and if you pull for another team and you're just here to start shite then frick off.

But they thought they were going to get Herman or Fisher, and firing Miles during the season would allow them to get a jump on other teams that would also be in the market for a new coach.

No,he isn't elite. Tennessee fans said the same thing, in the off season, about Shoop. I said then, even on this board, that he was in no way a great defensive coordinator. They learned it to be so.

Canada may be decent, but in no way is he elite. If he was that great, Orgeron wouldn't have waited, in vain, for Lane Kiffin to sign on, before settling for Canada after Kiffin did not.

They hired Orgeron because he made Saban shite his pants in the game we played. We are still a year away from getting the defensive line we need to push yall backwards but we are close. If we continue to recruit the defensive line the way we have the last two years, we will win a lot more games than Les ever did. Hence why we hired the best defensive line recruiter out there.

Kiffin is shite and always has been. O is supposedly friends with that fricking loser piece of shite and was looking to bring him on. Fortunately that didn't happen and now Kiffin can go on ad ruin another program without Nick to babysit him. If you don't think Saban was keeping that fricking loser in check you're dead wrong.

this is too funny. I see this posted a the time, well we played Bama the closest, not true, and if we only had a decent offense we would've won. However leading up to the game all we heard about was how much better the offense was now that miles was gone, how they were breaking and setting new records, no more predictable boring Miles scheme, (if you can't see the change then you're just a dumbass was frequently posted).

Then after being shut out, well you can't get years of Miles out of their systems in a few weeks and a lot of other excuses. It's is almost sad the length of homersim and bull shite excuses L6U fans have built up over the past 3 months.

Member all they "scared" of THerman post, he was in the bag, SEC was fricked, L6U top 5 job, coaches will walk naked on broken glass, in a blizzard to coach at L6U. Then reality hits and L6u pays Ed mOeaux $3.5mil. That's a lot for a failed HC, current dline Coach to run the program. But we saved $ to hire coordinators. You know the HC is bad when the coordinators are the main focus and cause more excitement. Plus L6U had pay out the arse to get the DC and a OC who is far from the elite status the Homers are proclaiming.

Ed Oeaux $3.5mil ,damn that's sad.

This will be said for many years to come. Just wait til next year, the L6U motto.

L6U waived the white flag (the French bloodlines rising to the top) when they hire Ed O and paid him $3.5mil

It's sad for L6U , to miss out on their done deal savior and thave Ed O bend them over for that much of a salary. Maybe Coach Moeaux isn't as dumb as he looks.

Well the more salient point to make is that if he were elite, or the best of the best in other words, he would've been up for a HC job already.

And he may be on his way to being that good. But he doesn't have the consistent track record yet that one would need to be called elite. He puts together 3 good offenses at LSU, then that's elite.

Bench McElroy
So why did LSU hire Ed Orgeron again?
by Bench McElroy

Let's look at what he did at LSU this season. Beat 4-8 Missouri Beat 7-6 Conference USA team (Southern Miss) Beat 5-7 Ole Miss Lost to Alabama Beat a 7-6 Arkansas team that just blew a 24 point lead in their bowl game Lost to Florida Beat a Texas A&M team who lost five consecutive games against Power 5 competition to finish the season.

LSU fired Les Miles midway through the season because they were worried he might temporarily save his job for another year by winning a bunch of games down the stretch against subpar competition. Ironically, they ended up hiring a coach who did just that.

Your personal opinion is just that - an opinion - and a monumentally simplistic opinion at that.

Orgeron's five wins were all routs. He destroyed all of those teams like he was supposed to. Miles would have played to the level of the competition and eked out those games, and probably would have lost 1 or 2 of them.
The Florida game was lost by the players. Turnovers and execution, and of course, running the wrong way on the last play that would have won the game.

Orgeron coached toe-to-toe with saban into the 4th quarter. It was just unfortunate that an LSU D-lineman was CLOTHESLINED by an Alabama O-lineman on Hurts TD run RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REF'S PUPILS............... no call. That would have pushed the ball back maybe out of FG range.

Not saying LSU lost on that one play, but it was a BIG game changer....

Ole Miss and A&M were top 10 teams earlier in the year.

Also, it was clear Herman was using LSU as leverage to get a big offer from his dream school - UT.
And Fisher was getting into a bidding war also.

With the staff that Orgeron has assembled, he can be free to do what he does best - inspire, motivate, recruit, etc. He has already shown a penchant for opening up the offense (though I wished he would have tried more against you guys.)

Time will tell if this was the right hire.

Why do you point this out? Your personal opinion is also just an opinion. So we're all on equal footing. You gain nothing from stating that.

Yeah I think this is going to be the theme in the coming years. Despite the fact that O has no expertise to contribute (by admission of even his fans), he gets credit for wins and no blame for losses. How does that work?

You did it again. In your first statement you said he's going to stand back and let coaches coach. Then in the next you say he's "opening up the offense." I don't get how he gets credit for doing things that we all admit he has no expertise in.

I respect your opinions of my opinions.

And Orgeron has "opened up the offense" by hiring Matt Canada.
