He lost one game that LSU should have won by 7 to 10 pts. Unfortunately for CEO miscues and poor focus did him in against Florida.
UF was playing for a shot at the SECCG. And we ran our mouths leading up to the game. They were plenty focused.

We were not focused the fight before the game set us up for miscues. CEO should have shut that shite down and he did not--bet he wishes he did.

That may have been it. They were fired up and played well enough to win. Have to give them credit. I will wait and see how Yaw Yaw does with an offseason under his belt and Aranda and Canada running their squads. With Guice coming back I feel we will be competitive in 2017. And my standards are pretty low - just Beat Bama.

why did LSU hire Ed Orgeron

The plan is:

1. Aranda is an elite DC
2. Canada is an elite OC
3. Orgeron is an elite recruiter
4. Elite talent + elite coordinators should = wins

Will it actually happen this way? Who knows. Put me in the cautiously optimistic camp.

Panic hire when Herman and Jimbo turned them down. But I don't think they wanted to pay the big bucks to those guys anyway.

They're paying $3.5miles to Ed Orgeron. Yes 3.5million to Ed Orgeron.

That's like paying a Saban caliber Coach 20mil. LMAO at L6U.

Isn't LSU broke? That would explain it.

LSU fired Les Miles midway through the season because they were worried he might temporarily save his job for another year by winning a bunch of games down the stretch against subpar competition. Ironically, they ended up hiring a coach who did just that.

They fired Miles because his team looked terrible in every game he coached this year and they got drilled by every team but a&m in November last year. At least Orgeron didn't let Ole Miss and Arkansas drill him by 3 scores like they did to Miles last year. Hell, the Arkansas team that finished 2-6 in the SEC the year before that shut out Les' team 17-0. Orgeron beat Arkansas worse this year than Miles ever did in 11 years of coaching at LSU.

Les would have beaten Ole Miss.

Who knows about Arkansas. They weren't the same team this year than the last two seasons. Their run defense sucks. Miles could have ran the ball a ton and beaten them. Hard to know.

If you watched how bad we were with Les in the four games we had with him this year, then you know we likely would have come out completely flat and possibly lost both of these games (especially when you consider that these teams had been having their way with LSU recently). LSU scored 21 points in the first half against Ole Miss. Under Miles, we scored a total of 10 first half points against them in his last three games against them. It's sad to say, but after Miles was fired, the team and the fans were more excited.

They will become the new Tennessee and most of their fans realize that.
No chance of that happening with Dave Aranda and Matt Canada. They're too good to let that happen!

Many LSU Alums and Fans weren't thrilled with the with the O hire, but "Canaranda" is just about as good as it gets. Those two are the reason that we feel more comfortable now.

Finallly we'll have some Offense, to go along with Aranda's Defense...............

You lost to Florida.

yes, we lost in a game that shouldn't have been close and wasn't looking at the stat sheet. Turnovers can kill any team (just like Bama v Ole Miss in '15).
You have to let it play out,
How did Freeze do this year?
How about Bert?

A safety for Bama would have won that game, Bama only did what it needed to do to win, and to give LSU false
hope about Coach 0 so they would keep him. Saban playing chess everyone else playing checkers.

Sad as this sounds it's apparently true. LSU will continue to slide into irrelevance under O, but they got a local boy to lead them so it's all good. This state loves to suck- especially when it's a local from down da bayou that's leading them.
And they got him for a good price. Woohoo!

THIS!

My only hope is that the 3 plus million they spent on coordinators and the ridiculous talent gives us at least 3 great years. Either that, or he fails spectacularly, and is gone in 3 years.
