You read to many bama message boards. Put a little thought into it. Athletes are allowed books for themselves. What is the transgression in that? Now if you did this.....

quote:

The NCAA said that those athletes in the sports, including men's basketball, obtained "impermissible benefits" by using their scholarships to obtain free textbooks for other students. It also found the university guilty of "failure to monitor."

So in other words, not just any student could partake in this scam.

.....and just to clear something up that I said earlier in this thread........

quote:

Not a single one of those fine bama athletes profited a single penny from the text books.

quote:

The university has said none of the textbooks or materials were used for profit or to get items not related to academics, and that the athletes involved who still have eligibility remaining have had to pay restitution.

SC's was bullshite though. The amount of money these guys were paying to live there was still like living in a nice apartment and they weren't given any more cash than any other athletes for their housing stipend. The same guy that brought recruits to SC brought Floyd to UF, and whatever happened with that? Floyd was even adopted by an alumni down there!
So players getting a maid to come in and clean the bathroom, free shampoo/soap/toilet paper, clean towels everyday, free ice, free HBO, and contenintal breakfast is like living in a nice apartment?

Any student that was on scholarship could use it. On your syllabus, you have required and recommended books. If you were on scholarship, you are supposed to be able to get the required books but not the recommended ones. There was a mistake in the system where you could get the recommended books with your scholarship. That's what happened to 99% of the athletes. I think only 3 athletes received more than $50 of books they weren't supposed to. But sure, keep talking out of your arse.

So why were the athletes getting books for their friends as well.

quote:

The committee found that 22 of the athletes receiving almost $22,000 in benefits who were aware they were impermissible.
yup just 3

Yea, we had to vacate two titles because an assistant coach helped a single athlete with a ride to the air port and a place to sleep for a few nights.

no but the whorish levels they will stoop to are digusting.

So kissing a black man on the cheek is "whorish?"

Racist much?

ETA: And misogynist much too, thinking you can pass judgment on a woman's sexuality.

Never did I mention race, but you did. Racist Much? oh yeah of course you are Ole Piss. I think it's whorish to flirt with a player to get them to sign with your school dumba$$. No wonder Mississippi is 50th at everything

Oh you're one of those "mentioning race is racist" types, huh.

You replied to a picture of two girls kissing a guy on the cheek and called their behavior whorish. You don't get to take any sort of high ground you fat, dumb bigot.
