Like Cohen is some Nostradamus and knew this would happen.

That’s not what I meant. Simply meant what a bad time to not have an AD, even though the previous AD was a shitty one.

And also though this isn’t Cohen’s fault, it probably still weighs on his conscience that he is not there to help since he is a Mississippi State alum and all.

I’m not so sure. Lemonis and Jans were good hires as was Leach.

Moorhead was bad but at the time he was hired everyone thought he was a great hire. Not really on Cohen.

He did ruin the girls BB program. Vic didn’t like Cohen and I heard that’s why he left. His replacement had been meh (the other replacement). Jury is out on Purcell but so far we seem decent. I forgot we got a new coach this year

Overall Cohen was average. Decent hires but he did poorly organizing and fundraising for facility improvements and NIL

Coaching Changes Board is suggesting Kliff.

I would be looking for someone recently retired that would come out of retirement for a handsome sum and do a real search at the right time next year. Should have the AD on board by then. That person should make the hire that he/she much live with. Or how about Gary Patterson or Ed Orgeron. Ed would get us 10 years of probation in less than 12 months but with the portal, you can rebuild fast.

Do we hire an AD first and let him do it? That’s question number 1.

I would have an interim for next season. You will have a better shot at getting a decent coach then.

Ask Arkansas how well that works. And that was before the transfer portal.

Of all the names mentioned in this thread, Patterson is by far the best option. IMO MSU needs an experienced coach with a steady hand to lead the players through this process. If your only consideration is trying to sustain Coach Leach's Air Raid model that is short sighted. Give Patterson a five year deal and I think you'll be happy with the results long term.

Well, Tennessee had to get a coach late once and ended up with Dooley.

I'm hesitant about hiring a coach who was a victim of a player mutiny.

Agreed. Arnett is the guy now.

Arnett is legit.

I think you roll with him.

If I was a betting man, I'd say he gets the job.
