As he should be, but with 1st time head coaches, you have absolutely no idea what to expect.

Yep - none at all. I think you can glean some level of expectation for management of the program, recruiting, etc......but in terms of on field product, style and player development, it's all a wild card.

Fisher had his two longest tenures, as an assistant, under Saban and Terry Bowden. How the hell is he considered a Bill Oliver protege? Oliver was the DC at Auburn from 1996-98. Fisher coached QBs at Auburn from 1993-98.

You can expect that, doesn't mean much. Dooley was Recruiting Coordinator of the year under Saban.
He was also the Athletic director at La Tech while being the football coach.

Muschamp went from D2 DC to NFL Associate Head Coach under Saban. He may have initially learned his defensive football philosophy under Oliver in the mid-90's as a GA, but he learned how to be a football coach under Saban.

And I think he tried, unsuccessfully, to establish the same sort of overall program management system as Saban.
However, as has been proven time and time again, there is only one of him. The guys who are going to be the most successful are the ones who take things that can be implemented and then develop their own additional stuff. I think McElwain has been a pretty good example of that. I have a feeling Kirby will do the same, but time will tell if it works.

Insults aside, he spent longer under Mack Brown than he did Bill Oliver. Muschamp also spent his longest tenure under Saban.

I agree completely. Muschamp IMO is like a coaching robot. He learned under Saban and tried to be Saban, but when things change or circumstances are different he lacks the creativity and ability to adjust.
Coach Mac is his own guy and very comfortable in his own shoes. I really, really like him. Just needs to be able to recruit a little better.

McElwain benefitted tremendously from going to a smaller program before he accepted the position at UF. And he's said as much.
Kirby may be a fricking genius and the second coming of Vince Dooley, but taking the head coaching job at a prestigious SEC school with zero head coaching experience could end up backfiring.

cant give him Jimbo since he is already in the Bowden tree. he gets Muschamp and butter teeth. the best would have to be Kirby since he just scored the best job in the universe according to Saban and Spurrier, duh.
