One of the oddest things about this site is the inability to criticize a poster and not a fan base

Settle down son. You're the one calling people jackasses. I am still trying to figure out how one could come up with you talking about Franklin from Kicking game?

I was posting about moments when Gus did too much and in doing so was reminded of the moments in which I watched Gus put Franklin in the return game last year.

Apparently you don't watch much of Auburn actually playing.

Gus's biggest issue is two-fold to me.
1. He never trusted Sean White. When he doesn't trust a QB he goes super duper vanilla, goes slower, and makes an already small number of plays much easier to predict
2. 2014 ruined him. 2013 we were great. 2014 we were really good on offense, mainly because of Marshall. Gus checked and called everything from the sidelines and Marshall made it work. It made Gus believe he could outsmart the defense. What it got us at times the past two years was Gus slowing the offense down to get us into the perfect play, which actually allowed defenses to adjust based on formation and personnel and predict what we would do.

We were better last year with Lashlee calling plays because he believed in white and we went fast when he called the plays.

If Gus would trust his QBs, go fast and be aggressive then we would love him calling plays. Most auburn fans believe our best shot at that is worth Lindsey calling plays, and hopefully he can add more to the pass game while maintaining the run game we have had.

Nawh - You can talk about bad coaching any day. Most everyone's been doing same since Clemson last year. Without all the ballerina QB swapping, wildcat, and whirly bird BS those guys would have never played that 15th game.

That Clemson game was full of wtf I'm not a fan of the "multiple QB" in and out nonsense. Always seems to keep a team from getting into a rhythm.

Most of his decisions are good after game three. His problem is having too much time in the off-season thinking up crazy shite. Hopefully Lindsey will have the balls to keep him grounded.

Time will tell if Lashlee is a great XO coach without Gus but it's obvious to all that he can't develop QBs. QB development is why Gus finally made a change.

I don't see how anybody could watch the Clemson game last year and wonder why the guru isn't calling plays.
Making bad reads or calls and having a bad game is one thing. Being confused enough to utilize an offensive game plan that defies continuity and winning is another.

See Richt, Bielma, Mullen and Jones. The SEC hasn't had many very good QBs the last 10 years, but those coaches had some good ones and the rest of the team was average.

QB's - he needs to let Chip decide who's the guy, because he's to wishy-washy about getting the just right guy. Any other spot and he locks onto the goto guy and makes adjustments. Can appreciate not giving your opponent anything, but the team needs to know who's the QB, more than the other side not knowing.

Gus is the most stubborn SOB in three states. Against better Ds UGA, UA, LSU he will run the same run plays on 1st and 2nd down the whole game. Then try sum bullshite pass on 3rd down. Predictable as hell. If you have players to stack the box and stop the run he is dead meat.

'm talking about the putting Franklin back there last year.

So putting one of the fastest guys on the team back to return kicks is "pee wee"?
On second thought you may be right. Fastest players are usually kick returners since pee wee football. Maybe LSU just needs to get back to the basics

No, teams stack the box because they know AU didn't have a QB that could throw downfield with any accuracy. His run game is more potent when he has a QB that can throw more than 15 yards down field.

Except that he put Franklin back there to do some weird fake handoff shite. Not actually return the ball like a normal kick returner.

Do Auburn fans not actually watch their team play?
