From what I have seen only so called Alabama fans are getting upset by this

I went to Georgia with a guy who was a lifelong Tech fan. That crazy fricker would actually leave Athens on weekends to go to Grant's Tomb in Atlanta.
We gave him a ration of shite for four years. I didnt respect his team at all, but he never waivered. He said he had put up with so much bad football as a kid, he wasnt going to miss out when things got good.

Sure, but I'm also an alum of the school I root for.

You clearly don't understand college football and most likely have not played even at the high school level.
Sad.............

Who gives a crap where fans of schools are from? Some people don't have the luxury of going to college. Why are you even remotely bothered by it?

Let's see I was born in Arkansas, have a retaliative hanging in the HOF, and still have most of my family there.

These threads are always welcomed because they draw the sidewalk fans out the wood works like Baby Oil.

Or it draws out people who think attending a class makes you a better fan... I haven't see either side with me at practice, even once.

If you don't at some point serve in the military are you a sidewalk American
Well since alabama is a state, and if you have no connection with that state or school and support the team you are a sidewalk fan
If you are an American (even with no military service) and support America that's an obvious connection no?
Your analogy should be if you are from another country and have no connection with America yet support America, then yes. You are a sidewalk American

Lots of people don't pay taxes, except when they buy something. I've paid taxes like that in many other countries and didn't feel like I had dual-citizenship.
Well you don't have dual citizenship. Just like someone from Mississippi that supports Alabama football and buys apparel doesn't mean they have state residency in Alabama.
Do you support the countries you've been to that you aren't a part of? Nothing wrong with that, but if you do and say "we" in regards to that country then yes you would be a sidewalk fan of that country.
It's basically like a guy in turkey that has no connection to the US talking shite to a Russian about the Cold War "victory"' and saying "we" came out on top in regards to the US.
How that Russian looks at the Turk is how everyone else looks at the bandwagon bama fans: "oh you beat us huh?"

Meh. I have a love-hate relationship with Alabama's sidewalk portion of the fanbase. It depends on the day. Or the action, sadly.

Why would you let something that is not even important bother you so much? It's consuming you enough to at least waste your Saturday here and likely much more. How does the reasoning behind others pulling for sports teams strike such a nerve?

Love LSU. Respect Bama. Pull for USCe cause I don't understand how they can't be better than they are. Beautiful campus and great fan base.

To me this is even worse than a sidewalk fan who supports a university from their state or one they have connections to through family or marriage.
Because fandom is an ethnicity. Haha, sorry, it's a religion and there will be converts of all race, creed and location.

You've been shut down left and right in your own thread. Then you get defensive like the Libby you are and try to use arguments both ways, like your gem about taxes.
You're a ucf guy, in Florida. Your state is more Yankee than New York.
