Kentucky 2012 had 4 first round picks, including the top 2 selections in the draft. They could probably win a series against some of the recent 76ers teams

Maybe win a couple in a 10 game series but you are really underrating veterans in the NBA. They would get pushed around for the most part.

That's all we're talking about isn't it? In the context of football where the college team loses 10/10

Just different when you do it for a living. Professionals all day over amateurs. Guess only example I remember would be USA hockey over the Soviets who were definitely pros

The talent disparity in baseball is monumental from college to pros, if we're talking MLB and NCAA. No chance a college team would even come close to staying on a field with a team from MLB.

I dont see any sport where a college team could compete with a professional team.

The better college teams MAY be able to compete with some of the poorer Single A clubs. Maybe.

a group of college all stars beat the dream team in 1992. Chuck daly went off and no other games were close through the olympics. Watch the 30 for 30. It was a great lesson in humility for the dreamers

Baseball too but not in a series.

Baseball probably has the biggest gap between college and MLB. You have no clue wtf you're talking about.

Have you ever played baseball numb nuts? An elite pitcher on his game can shut down anyone. It's not unheard for a college to scrimmage an MLB team and win. Toss Strasburg out on the bump throwing 102 in college facing a bunch of guys that have never seen him and he's going to make them look stupid. Baseball is indiscriminate. 100 mph is 100 mph and it's fricking hard to hit. Conversely, it takes a walk and a guy running into a fastball to put two runs on the board.

Baseball has a talent gap but anything can happen in one baseball game. There's a lot less physicality than other sports which allows for wierd things to happen.

You can beat a team by 20 one day and lose to the same team the next.

I've often wondered if you took 1 of 3 if you could beat an NFL team:

1. The All-America college team
2. An All conference team
3. A Senior Bowl team

I think the All-America team with some time together could compete, as you would feasibly have guys like Dak and Elliott on that team last year for example.

You wouldn't have the Cowboys Oline though which is really what makes that team tick.

It's not like a Strasburg comes around every year, or every four years for that matter. And he's rarely on the best overall team in college. It would still be extremely long odds

Really good college pitchers are almost always lower ceiling type guys

Would have to be a game like golf where the players aren't physically going against each other. Still it would take a really good game by the college team and a really bad game by the pros.
