Getting hit first in the sense of knowing there is going to be a confrontation isn't, but if you have no idea someone is going to fight you it kinda is.

Little Ryan from Ole Miss probably never had his arse kicked, so getting hit probably did come as a shock to him, and he probably didn't expect it. That doesn't mean he wasn't asking for confrontation though.

An ole miss student came down and stayed with a group of us for the game of the century a few years ago. After the game he starts talking shite to some giant lsu fan in a restaurant, knowing 4 of us were there to have his back if things got hairy, and knowing he wouldn't do that alone. People that have never gotten their arse kicked don't really know how to act, so it probably comes as a surprise to them when it first happens, even if they're begging for it.

People that have gotten their arse kicked usually know better.

So the takeaway lesson is everyone deserves to get their arse kicked so they'll know what its like, and the Bama fan was doing him a service? That makes so much sense now

Yea you nailed it chief.

The take away is don't talk shite to angry people and act surprised and plead innocence when they lash out, particularly when they are 220 pounds with an athletic build. Most people know better than to do that.

Why are they waiting until the kid is in better health to file a complaint?

Someone please link the Jeremy hill sucker punch for this corn dog

It is universally known that LSU football players only get in fights with frat stars who inexplicably call them the N-word.

It is universally known that there will always be a Bama fan to make headlines for being a douche. We just breathe a sigh of relief when they don't actually kill someone.

All other oddities aside, that part alone just screams there was a lot more than a sucker punch involved.

Unless the kid threw the first punch or otherwise committed some type of assault whomever hit him needs to be identified and arrested but I think it's a near 100% certainty that most of the story is an outright lie.

With Ole Miss' racial history "Hotty Toddy" is like the N-word. Bama fan was just a SJW

Come at me bro

You forgot the Bama fan that went on a stabbing spree in Auburn a few years ago....

According to reports, an unidentified man shouted "Roll Tide" at Phi Kappa Tau fraternity students around 12:30 CST Saturday morning. A fight then broke out, with the man pulling out a knife and stabbing people.

A sucker punch is a sucker punch. Sorry your still hurt from the tea bagging sexual harassment encounter you had with Gumpdyke. It only touched your face, get over it.

Let's be honest.

There's a shitton we don't know right now.

But most of us were expecting a headline about a Bama fan to come out any moment this week.

It's not like it's totally implausible.

Broski, our football players get a pass when frat stars call them the N-word.

The team has voted.

There won't be a recount.

Did any of his group of friends call the police?

Why are they waiting until he "gets back in good health" to file a police report?

They are really going to hinder their chances of catching anyone by these interesting choices.

Happens a lot at Bama and LSU

First of all I have been to Alabama 3 times and they are actually the nicest opposing team fanbase in the entire SEC as far as I can tell. LSU won all three of those I happened to be at and the fans were gracious after defeat.

Secondly, I have been going to LSU games since I was 10 years old. 34 years later and I have never seen a fight Inside, outside, or tailgating at an LSU game and I have been to every home game besides missing a couple over those many years. I'm sure they happen but you are full of shite if you think it happens at LSU and Bama more than anywhere else.

I actually got harassed so badly in 2003 for the LSU Ole Miss game that I regretted bringing my wife. We literally had Ole Miss fans running up and screaming in our faces about 2" away from our nose, in the grove. Those who live in Glass houses and all that.

Edit: I shouldn't include inside I, of course have seen fans escorted out of the stadium after brawling but never an LSU fan and an opposing team fan. We eat our own dammit!!!

Sometimes a sucker punch is only a punch you were promised but didn't believe would be thrown.
