Smart thing to do is do your yelling & celebrating in the stadium, then mind your own business walking to your car at 1 AM in the morning.
No excuse for the sucker punch though.
No excuse for the sucker punch though.

Tuscaloosa 30 minutes after the game. They were celebrating the win shouting “Hotty Toddy” and (allegedly) an irate Alabama fan blindsided Ryan (who didn’t see the punch coming) between Salon 5 and Pizza Hut.
The only pizza hut I know of near downtown Tuscaloosa is on Veterans Memorial Pwky. If you google it, google maps will say there is one downtown, but there isn't. I was in Temerson Square after the game and I never heard of any altercation.

Love the small penis people in this thread insinuating he got what was coming to him. Dude was celebrating after winning a big game. He in no way deserved any kind of assault for that.
I think most people are saying that they are skeptical about what exactly happened, and that it is pretty dumb to celebrate obnoxiously at an away game.

Well said. No one deserves to be sucker punched just like my Auburn friend didn't deserve to be sucker punched just for wearing an Auburn hat in an LSU bar. Having said that, I go out of my way not to stand out as an Alabama fan with either school colors or celebrating after a win when visiting other SEC stadiums. It's not worth risking a beatdown from an enraged home fan who is hammered or just plain crazy.

Talking shite after an SEC football game is comparable to the goobers that perform pranks on people in ghetto and then act surprised when they get their shite rocked. Have some situational awareness

they really are a different breed of shitty arse fans

Careful there Glorious. Telling people to use basic common sense = condoning the assault to many here.

I'm going to reserve judgment until something better than "hottytoddy.com" reports what actually happened.

How do you know that for certain? Maybe he took his celebration too far and harrased a grown man in front of his wife and 2 children. Maybe he threatened them when he was told to settle down? There is a lot of unknowns. What if he told the man OM just fricked Bama like he would his wife? No telling what the little fella said and I would bet it was more than Hotty Toddy and the man took exception to it especially in front of wife and kids.
Either way I am not justifying violence and hope the kid recovers and wish it would not have happened.

I was walking out of the stadium in Oxford last year as all the boys on frat row lined up to give us the business and was taunted by the same kid little frat star for about 100 feet and after about a minute of him getting up in my face and telling him to walk I away, I had enough, and dropped him. Kid deserved it. This kid probably deserved it too. You don't get punched in the face by accident very often.
Ole Miss fans are the worst. They have never done it before so have no idea how to act.
how would yelling Roll Tide in Baton Rouge have gone over leaving tiger stadium last year???? I walked out of the stadium and kept my mouth shut to avoid a situation just like this kid should have.
If you want to act like a tough guy, then be one. don't be scared when the punches start flying.

There was a comment to the linked article from a guy claiming to have witnessed the incident. Said the victim was walking about 10 feet behind the perpetrator trash talking (nothing too over the top but using foup language) the man who was walking ahead of him with is wife and child. The guy turned around and walked up to him and connected with one punch. The victim's friends held the victim back from going after the perpetrator. This according to the eyewitness.

Kristy A, don’t apologize to these halfbrained losers. They were the absolute worst group of visiting fans I had ever seen and I’m surprised more weren’t dropped. They were all taunting and getting in the faces of so many Alabama fans calling us names, trying to stir up fights. I just knew it would eventually get ugly. LSU fans even display more class after a win than those idiots. The entire walk to our car was complete mayhem and I kept telling my wife there will be a big war if they don’t calm down – especially with the name calling and getting in the faces of strangers. It was to the point where we avoided big herds of Mississippi fans. We walked by three little drunken Mississippi frat boys who were calling this man in his early 50s a “fig” and “c–k sucking maggot worshiper” and threatening to kick his a– while the poor guy just sat there, not saying a word. If I wasn’t with my wife, I’d be in the news for putting those rednecks in the ICU.
They (especially in this comment section) are painting this picture as if they’re innocent victims, but I should have had my phone out recording the uproar Saturday night. You guys were acting like complete idiots, but of course, this is to be expected from a group of hillbillies who worship the confederate flag and can’t speak coherent English.
Act like you’ve been there before, Mississippi and learn how to control your alcohol!
frick ole miss
