You seem to be quite the star gazer. Our lowly 4 star, true freshman back teabagged the Aggies at their place last year. I can't wait to watch what he does to them next year
Genius. Pure, unadulterated, on-topic, GENIUS.

Things like this will continue to happen. The article instantly gets more hits because his name is attached.

Probably so. The upside to all this is we may see better all around backs. One's who can pass block, pick up the blitz, run a route other than to the flat, and catch the ball.

Yes. It's a good example of the college game mimicking the pros. Gone are the days of one back getting 30 carries.

I don't think they are saying Saban is the inventor. It's just that Alabama has won 3 national championships in 4 years with this system. Not only that, but ESPN has talked up the 1/2 punch of Alabama running backs since 2008 when Glen Coffee and Mark Ingram were splitting carries.
Saban didn't invent it, he just made the practice famous because Alabama is THE program right now.

We had 5-star Christine Michael and 4-star Ben Melina sharing time with 5-star Trey Williams.
This next year, we have 4-star Melina sharing time with 5-star Trey Williams, 5-star Tra Carson, and 5-star Brandon Williams.
Ben Malena says hello...
...and to spell his name right.

Not that anyone cares, but this is a pet peeve of mine. "Hits" is an antiquated term of measurement on the Internet. It actually represents a request for a file. Each page has dozens of "files".
The term you are looking for is page views.

Derrick Henry has ridiulously skinny legs for a guy his size.

Tra Carson wasnt a five star. He was a three star on rivals and ESPN.
I don't understand why he's thrown into that group nor the infatuation with him. He's a power depth addition. I'll be surprised if he gets more than 30 carries next year.

That is the main reason good teams will not draft a RB in the first round anymore. Those backs that split their time have not proven themself able to complete a 16 games season with any production. Most of the names listed in the article with exception of Ricky Williams, have been a bust at the NFL level.

It's always a hoot to watch a thread regress to this level.

Most NFL teams are doing the same thing with sharing the workload. That's a high-impact, short-career position.

LSU has been doing this for 8 years.

Here's a neat little tidbit about size increase of NFL players. RB's haven't gotten much bigger (stronger and faster though, I would think). But the DL has gotten huge and the DE's are almost as fast as the back. It's takes a special back not to get caught from behind and not run into a brick wall.
