If there's a place for all of your marching band to practice in it, then I'd say "Sure!"

I think as far as practicing their whole performances and whatnot they use a field outdoors somewhere.

Well then that's what this thread is about then. It rains a lot in Baton Rouge, so The Golden Band From Tigerland needs a place that the whole band can fit into at once.

I'm not sure this building qualifies as marching band hall.

Edit: At least, I'm not seeing where the band would practice...

Facilities

But that's my fault, I wasn't specific. OP has been altered.

Nah. That's Hugh Hodgson - the music building. It isn't used for the marching band beyond a few indoor music-only rehearsals during band camp or during the season if we're rained out. UGA only has a dedicated field at southernmost point of the Intramural fields for the band to practice on.

So, no, we don't have a facility. That said, a key "benefit" is that many bands that do have indoor facilities...usually have extreme issues with early season games due to not being used to the heat. This only applies in the South, obviously.

tl;dr: Redcoat band is too good to need silly air conditioning.

Trust me, when TGBFTL finishes The March Down Victory Hill...in wool uniforms...in Baton Rouge...they're ready for the heat.

We have (well, had, new ones this upcoming season) wool uniforms too. But LSU is exactly the band I was referencing as I talk to some of their members - they've complained about dehydration and heat exhaustion before :D

In all likelihood, it's got to be the Friday night drinking. Though I've heard the LSU band doesn't do Saturday morning practices? At UGA, we have to report as early as 7 AM even if the kickoff isn't until 8 PM for a morning practice -.-

Very nice! Does your band march to BHG from there?

Yes, then they play after the game near Century Tower.

Alabama doesn't have a dedicated marching band building, but here's a pic of the music building.

Is there a space big enough for the band to practice in? Or do they use Coleman for that?

It's some kind of polyester/nylon something. I haven't seen them yet because we only have one prototype at the moment. It's going to be similar to the drifit kind of clothes you can buy, but obviously thicker.
