He was given the keys to a national championship contender when he was hired following the 2018 season. He had 2 amazing seasons including winning the 2021 CWS with previous coaches talent. Since winning the natty Lemonis is on the brink of back to back losing seasons and back to back Last place SEC finishes. He keeps wanting to use injuries as his excuse but to many MSU fans his excuses are running thin.

I think that if he misses Hoover again this year he is going to be fired. (and he is on pace to do so with our remaining schedule Ark @LSU A&M. Its very possible to lose all 9 of those games.

We are 6-15 in the SEC and have been 10 run ruled in 5 of those losses and the last two weekend have blown 6 or more run leads to Auburn twice and to Tennessee. We’re 15-36 overall in SEC play over the last two years.. That means we’re losing 71% of our SEC games the last two years. We have lost 20 of those 51 games (right at 40%) by four runs or more

I think the writing is on the wall and Lemonis has to be let go because in baseball expectations are higher and we deserve better than the product he is putting out on the field.

Quite a fall from grace. I think he’ll get 1 more year though.

No, he should not be fired. In fact, just the opposite. I think he needs a lifetime contract to work out the kinks.

How has his recruiting been? Any promising young players on the team?

I haven’t watched any games, but losing games in the SEC is gonna happen to everyone. Even LSU has lost 5 games.

10-20 isn’t a bad year necessarily if you are staying competitive in games Sounds like that isn’t happening.

In the age of the portal, I think coaches will be on an even shorter leash these days.

We are in a tight spot ourselves. Pierce has made Omaha 3 out of 6 years, and we had a pretty good chance to win it all in 2021.. but something seems missing..

One thing we struggle with is signing a decent amount of kids that get drafted.. if we can get some more of them to come to school, that would help.. so maybe a better NIL game.

But with the portal, we should be able to fill holes better.

Tough call. Probably 1 year more max if state can’t make noise to end year. The Dude is too big and too much money has been spent to let State baseball slip into obscurity.

At the very least we need to fire Foxhall and get a pitching coach.

Our bats are fine, our fielding is average. Pitching it atrocious. In no way should we be up 5+ runs in 5-6innings and know we will blow it.

I remember having guys like Sims and Holder where we would be winning by 1 run in the 9th and opposing teams had 2 on no outs, and they’d come in and shut it down. I miss that. I need that to come back

Don't give him the Frank Martin treatment.

I appreciate State fans for seeing that not following up on a title with something is grounds to move on. As a gamecock fan trapped with frank martin for several seasons after the final 4 it is refreshing to see your fanbase not have the same stockholm syndrome.

I think he gets one more year, but the seat has to be hot.

also frick Frank Martin, I am beyond glad he is gone

Your lineup is up there with the best in the country. Several good young hitters too. But the pitching is bad. You just can’t survive the SEC with bad pitching. I think he deserves one more year but have no idea what the future pitching prospects look like.

he's pulled the Dinardo, Nutt, whoever you want to attribute it to, the classic win great first couple years w/ talent he didn't find on his own and let the well run dry. I'd vote for "should" fire him.

I guarantee you that LSU wouldn't not stand for allowing a coach have 2 straight losing seasons in baseball. Heck yall fired O for a lot less only for one bad season.

Wonder who they'll replace him with? Frank Anderson, Matt Hobbs?

2021 Conference ERA 4.21
2022 Conference ERA 7.47
*2023 Conference ERA 9.82
To date... with LSU, Ark and A&M coming up it could move past 10

Foxhall should have been gone after last season

This is beyond unacceptable and I don't know how anyone could defend it.

I don't think ever ever known for a pitching coach to be fired mid season for an non off the field incident.

Well he just fired his pitching coach. Not sure that will be enough to save his job.

The greatest coach in your program’s history couldn’t win a championship in 40 years. Y’all will fire a guy 2 years after he actually wins one?

Polk had one losing season in his career and it was his last season and he retired due to pressure due to lack of winning. The bar for Mississippi State baseball is on a different level than other sports.

Its not that we have just been losing we have been 10 run ruled 5 times this season in SEC play and seem to lose every close game due to poor pitching.
