Art Still, who played on that '77 UK team, was just inducted into the College Football HOF. They were pretty damn good.

If they were going to put some UF teams on there, not putting the 2001 Gators on there is a omission. Gator fans think they are clearly the best UF team not to win an NC. Some think they were better than some of the teams that did.

Putting 2001 LSU and not 2001 UF is pretty ridiculous. UF absolutely destroyed them when they played each other and ended up with a better record.

This omission makes me question the list. Not even the honorable mentions? They put 2001 LSU on there, a team we beat 44-15 in Baton Rouge.

2011 LSU is the best team to not win a championship.

You lost, though. And it was in embarrassing fashion. That Auburn team beat a lot of ranked teams and didn't lose.

Hence they didn't win a championship. Thanks for the clarification, genius.

2013 Auburn?

They were like the 4th best team in the SEC that year.

2004 auburn was a travesty. they would have given USC the game they deserved. Ou secondary was garbage all year, Reggie McNeal injured himself bc he threw so many tds on them.

2011 LSU wouldn't have scored 14 on 2004 Auburn.

Less than 48 hours after a national title and Kick 6 still on your mind. They'll chase him forever...

Can any other team on that list say they played 2 games that they didn't sniff the endzone in?

They won a bunch of games but luckily avoided an arse-beating at the hands of USC so the Barn faithful could play the martyr role for the rest of eternity.

OU would have blown them out as well

That will be relevant when teams like 2004 Auburn have the defense 2011 Bama had.

How so? The final AP rankings that year looked like this:

#2 Auburn
#4 South Carolina
#5 Missouri
#7 Alabama
#14 LSU
#18 Texas A&M
#24 Vanderbilt

Auburn beat Missouri, Alabama, and Texas A&M.
They lost to LSU
They did not play South Carolina or Vanderbilt

I don't see how anyone could say they weren't #1. Had South Carolina not lost to a pretty bad Tennessee team, then I think you could make a case for the Gamecocks. But then again, Auburn would have played Carolina in Atlanta so we would have known the result at that point.

Just for this reason alone, the list is shite. They're admitting right off the bat that the top 20 teams aren't really the top 20 teams. WTF? I wonder what four non-Bama teams from the top 20 would have been displaced if they hadn't rigged the results.

agreed.
