Interested to see how good Arky will play in conference, especially on the road.
Me too, it starts in 2 hrs 17 minutes.

I think this is what Slive was aiming for with better non conference scheduling. They lost their rival game to Illinois in Saint Louis and beat UCLA in Columbia. Hard to make more accurate predictions with so few data points.
And beat NC State at their place.

Lol, what? KenPom takes in consideration of offensive and defensive efficiency stats up till this point. Past champions besides UConn were in the top 20'in both and ranked high in KenPom. KenPom has let it be known, he is not sold on Mizzou.
They were ranked highly in KenPom before conference play started? Or when the season ended? When there's more data points? Like I was pointing out? You fricking moron?

Better question, how many Mizzou fans made the trip to NC State? One can only assume it was embarrassingly low. Let's start a thread.

As the other organizer, you should get the same benefits I do!

What Tennessee did is schedule smarter than UF.
Bruce Pearl mastered the art of beating the system when it comes to strength of schedule, and Cuonzo finally figured it out. Playing 200+ RPI opponents is just as damaging as playing a top 100 opponent is helpful.
When it comes to Selection Sunday, all the numbers point to a stronger SOS for Tennessee than UF, despite whatever 'eyeball test' you are using.
The schedules are not much different at the top any way, outside of Kansas. Wisconsin and Wichita are pretty similar and UConn and Memphis are slipping fast, while Xavier looks poised to have a lot of success in the BE and Wake and UVA are off to good starts in the ACC. UConn would likely not even be in the field if not for their win over UF and Memphis was just destroyed by a mediocre Cincinnati team at FedEx.

UK and Mizzouri both need to be drop just based on the first half alone.

PAC has been doing it for ages and part of what brought Mack Brown down was aiming for the middle. If you play a bunch of 25 - 75 the math gets better then if you play several 1 - 10 and 101 - 120 in football. Double that and you get the basketball equivalent. The downside is you stop playing the real top so you are not prepared when you have to play them at the end of the season.
Seriously tho, if you want to be Top 25 in football you need to have 1 or 2 Top 25 in your non conference. In basketball you should have at least double that in your non conference to really prepare for the run at the end. I think it was 96' UK that beat both teams in the Final Four and National Championship that beat them in the regular season.
I still think Pat Summit was the best scheduler. Look at those old schedules and they really were playing the best all the way through. Vols have 8 banners to show for it.

Tennessee played I believe 6 of the 8 elite 8 teams one year under Pearl.
It is great playing Kansas, tOSU, UNC, Memphis, Gonzaga, etc. as Tennessee did under Pearl, but even if you don't the key is avoiding 200+ teams.
As far as being more prepared at the end, I don't think anyone is confusing this Tennessee team with a national championship contender, but making the tourney is very important and Cuonzo did a nice job manipulating the numbers to give us a pretty good shot.
