Last year's defense wasn't very good either.

Defenses were down across the board in the league last year. Alabama's was still the best in the conference. I guess it was the least awesome defense in Alabama's recent memory, so there's that.

I mean, I'm not calling for anyone to get fired over it, but we have issues and had (more) issues last year.

Very good is clearly relative, but in our biggest games we didn't have answers in the biggest spots defensively. And so far, this season, we haven't either.

Maybe that will change, but I'm not counting on it.

I agree. Very good, no doubt - but this won't be the 2011 defense or anything

I agree 100%. LSU's D is very good, and may end up being one of the best in the country, but it definitely has weaknesses. The middle is a concern for me and until we have at least 1 DT step up and show they can consistently stuff the run this D is going to struggle against the power run game. I really believe LSU's secondary is the best in the country though.

I think MSU was bringing in all their 3rd and 4th stringers early because they were looking for a group that could stop UABs offense...the game was close through the second quarter it's obvious the starters weren't getting it done...
