I look forward to catching a game some day in Austin, I have no desire to ever be in Norman, OK. That stadium looks like a pile of crap.

What does this have to do with anything?

I would agree it's not the best stadium, but that article could at least show a recent picture.
The pressbox needs a lot of help. Capacity was actually decreased to 80,126 to make things more comfortable for everyone.

Went to Texas LSU game 2019 and UT should be way down on the list.

Not saying this cuz I’m an Ag, DKR is too high. I’m sure the amenities are top class with the recent upgrade, and it’s cool to visit Austin (for a day or two at least), but their fans are way too quiet to be that high. It’s a metropolitan location with a metropolitan crowd, it is what it is. Unless this list isn’t taking atmosphere into account.
Can see top 5 though.
The other UT seems a little high too.

Neyland too high, it's a freaking dump

My favorite stadium in the SEC is South Carolina. The way their lights are constructed is just so cool. Arkansas is probably my second favorite. Florida probably 3rd.

That does look nice. A lot better than it used to.

I like Oklahoma's stadium. I like that they have upper decks on only two sides. Texas stadium is pretty generic. In fairness, so is Alabama's. Probably my two favorite stadiums in college football (as far as power 5 conferences) are Oregon and Virginia tech. I love weird looking stadiums that aren't symmetrical.
Edit: Actually, just took a look at Texas and their stadium is kinda weird too. So I like it.

Yep. Neyland is a shithole. Especially with views like this.

Wow. Just wow. Someone should have lost their job over that one.

Then you must get horny looking at Penn State’s strange assemblage. It’s name? Beaver Stadium.

quote:I've always admired that Alabama has multiple video boards (one for each corner) rather than one central one.
In fairness, so is Alabama's.
A big part of Texas's atmosphere problem after installing the big video board in 2006 is that people would go to the stadium just to watch TV. And then they would flog the crowd with commercials during timeouts which would take the air out of the building.
The AD has since remedied a lot of that since his first fall in 2018, and hopefully the closed endzone will help capture some of the noise better within the stadium.
