Most ignorant statement ever. The 2001 team might be the greatest Miami team ever.

yea seriously. Sanctions killed Miami, not the sugar bowl loss. Miami still hung with Nebraska in the orange bowl a few years later.

Ironic that they think this, considering they were only there in the first place because Sam Bradford got hurt.

What exactly did you see in the 5 plays Colt played that made you think he would dominate the Alabama defense?

Such is life.

Remind me ... Is it t.u. or TAMU that plays on national television every Saturday nowadays?

How can you say that with any certainty? McCoy went down on the fifth or sixth play of the game when the score was still 0-0. The only reason why Texas was in Alabama territory when it happened was because we tried a fake punt deep in our own territory and failed to convert.

Colt "Glassjaw" McCoy wouldn't have done shite even if he hadn't been injured.

I can't really say anything bad about Longhorn football, I really like what the program has turned into.

Mack Brown broke Texas with his failures at recruiting in-state QBs that wanted to go there and his culture of softness he instilled by trying to be a father figure/mentor instead of a head coach. The Gilbert fiasco set Texas back for years.

After the Bama loss Mack also tried to install a power rushing offense in a league full of uptempo spread teams and he suffered similar results to those spread teams that Bama has by trying to emulate them.

I think that is fair. Texas puts RG3 or JFF on their roster as a QB and everyone would still think Mack is a genius. He was one win away from winning the Big 12 the year he got fired, better QB play and he is still there.

Exactly. RG3 wanted to play at Texas and so did Jameis Winston. Manziel wasn't even recruited by Texas. Look at those three recruiting failures right there that Mack didn't want and wrap your head around that. All three Heisman winners, and I think you get a clearer picture of what "broke" Texas' program.

Ohhhh what could have been, Mack. Oh what could have been....

The sleazebag "fixer" Cleve Bryant finally getting canned hurt more than the Alabama loss.

W-L (Pct.), Cleve Bryant era (1998-2010): 133-34 (.796) Since then: 32-25 (.561)

The shite-show since then has been fun to watch.

That is what broke the program, but then all kinds of other crap got piled on top- a shite AD, out of control megaboosters and their egos, us hurting their recruiting base with a SEC move, a network that only gets watched by opposing coaches looking for tips, etc. It is a lot to dig out from.

No...that'd be our 2005 National Championship.
You know how great winning the championships feels right? You probably know that feeling better than most schools, didn't y'all just win the 1919 and 1927 national championships in 2012?
