The only thing this entire discussion proves is that people will go hysterical if a call against their opponent/rival is missed, and will go to every ridiculous extreme to rationalize/trivialize/attack a missed call in their own favor. And so it goes.

Get that logical bullshite out of here, this is the sec rant for God's sake! Logic and civil discussion are frowned upon.

There is no "meh" rule. It should have been called; just like the +2s on the play clock when OSU kicked a FG against PSU.

It mattered.....

It didn't matter on the outcome of that play and everyone knows it.

Without looking do you know where the world number ones were on the field? We're they standing next to each other? You said blatant, as in very obvious.

But if one team gets a do over on penalties not being called then the other might want the same opportunity.

we've been on the bad side of the refs all season.

MSU had a bunch of bs calls against us. so did this one.

someone find some gifs of that PI call.

or all the blatant holding?

literally the whole stadium including usc fans were booing the refs for a full 3 or 4 downs.

It's funny you posting this, because if it was an LSU fan posting it would be the end of the world on the rant. Other fan bases saying how LSU wines about refs and the state of Alabama getting the calls. Over the years this has been common so get use to it. I would have to say when you play Bama or Auburn in AL the refs should get better eye glasses!!!

Would y'all not have wondered if the tables had been turned, though? I don't think any of us Carolina fans are saying we WOULD have won, only that there was a whisper of a hope had it been called. I haven't seen anybody legit "hysterical" about it, though. Just a bunch of "what ifs" is all.

When it happened, I didn't think he got in, but I knew the instant the replay was shown that there wasn't conclusive evidence to overturn it. I don't get what is so difficult to understand about that.

Honestly, I couldn't tell. I would be surprised if any Georgia fan he was not in and if any Auburn fan said he was in. It's one of those plays where you watch and you fall on the side of whose team you are a fan of.

For me? I honestly don't know, nor do i care. You guys won the game. I also will refuse to call the pass play lucky. Your receiver (Louis) stayed with the play. he put himself in position to make the play and he made the play. As a Georgia fan it hurt to see it go down....but luck had very little to do with it.

I think auburn fans have their own what ifs going on. And that's their right.

They have mistakes and calls that could be pointed at to make the game less close

We have mistakes and calls that could be pointed at to help the "we could have won" argument.

That's fan hood. Nobody is going to convince the other side, so you just tip your hat to the victor on the field and move on.

Personally, I would've been upset about it.

I agree. I think if there is a play call to get bent out of shape for its one that gives a competitive advantage as in holding not called, face mask not called, pi not called, etc.

Okay, okay, fine, stop badgering me. I'll look at the play with an unprejudiced eye if you send me the link.

Badgering you? that wasn't directed at you. However, trust me...you can't tell from any video that I have seen. It's about as inconclusive as it gets.

I know it wasn't I was joking. But I'd still be interested in seeing the play. IIRC, I only caught it out of the corner of my eye when it happened.

Here is a Youtube link...but honestly not a good one. When you see it like this it looks obvious he was in....but when you watch replays it shows it was not quite as obvious. It was close and could have been called either way.

I saw a replay of that that was pretty much showing he was less than a yard short.

glad the game went the way it did but honestly did not think he was in at all. Of all the things I have to be butt hurt about though, this ranks pretty low on the list.

Thanks. I actually remember that one. At the time, I thought the ball didn't cross the plane, but it was extremely close and impossible to overturn on the replay if the official call it a TD on the field. Has to be indisputable, and that play wasn't.

To recap this thread…

A bama fan makes a sarcastic statement about Hail Marys never working in light of Auburn winning last year with a Hail Mary.

That joke sails over the head of Carolina Girl and Dawgs Life the former not surprising at all. So they defend the fact that Hail Marys do in fact work.

A USCe fan list 5 missed calls by the refs which went against USCe but fails to mention the 5-8 that went against Auburn.

A level headed USCe fan suggest Auburn is playing the "what if" game on how that wasn't a blow out. USCe is playing the "what if" game on maybe a second hail mary would have worked.

In fact the refs missed the jersey call. It wasn't the only calls they screwed up during the game.
