Wouldn't fix last nights problem.

1-99 are legal, there are enough numbers, without duplication.

including walk on's, most teams have nearly 120 kids on the team/roster,,, so what you're saying is 99 > 120 ???

thanks for playing, now try again.

The actual problem appears to be that one of the players with dup number actually WAS playing both ways, he was a WR who was put in on defense according to the above poster.

This kind of crap is going to continue until we move the SEC headquarters out of Birmingham and stop having Bammer grads as head of officials.

Every game has its close calls, but South Carolina will likely circle the call that was not made on the final play of the game Saturday night at Auburn.

The refs were horrible.

They missed two pass interference calls, one which was an obvious holding, and either of which might have made a big difference.

Then they missed the two same numbers on the field to end the game ... which should not have ended when it did.

But meh, we had other chances to win it and couldn't pull it off ... our defense is game, they've got heart, they're just too fricking young and stupid to know what they are doing yet.

But yeah, the refs sucked.

When do you plan on starting a thread about the 4 holding / tackling our defenders that wasn't called? 2 of them were mentioned by the announcers as being missed calls. What about the hands to the face call on the wrong team? Or the pass interference that was 8 yards out of bounds? Another one the announcers said was horseshite. How often do chicken shite announcers call out the refs?

Except the game was over by the time he took his helmet off.

At least South Carolina benefitted from a pass interference call earlier in the game that even the tv announcers said was a bogus call.

there may be an argument for "letting that one go" but it wasn't "bogus" it was technically a correct call, announcers don't always know wtf they are talking about.

The refs had a very poor outing in that game, lots of terrible calls the whole night.

That PI call is the reason I've grown to hate the penalty. If there was no body there in coverage at all he still wouldn't have caught the pass, thing was like three or four yards OOB.

I think you are a couple of decades behind the times.

If I am not mistaken there is a roster limit of 105 including walkons. That's 85 schollies and 20 walkons.

120 ended in something like 1977 maybe.

Yes they did but Auburn was able to overcome it anyway and win. Sign of a championship team.

Refs probably don't even look for such a penalty.

They missed the same penalty a few years ago when Notre Dame squeaked by Pitt.

Pitt missed a FG in OT that would have wont eh game.

ND had 2 guys with the same number, should have been 5 yards closer and a do-over, instead Pitt goes on to lose in a later OT.

I agree with the auburn fans it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Hail Marys never work.

SCar threw a hail mary right before half at a bowl game a few yrs back. Thrown into major traffic and Alshon Jeffery went up and got it. Don't tell me they never work.

Go frick yourself. The whole reason the announcers said the pass interference call was a bogus penalty is because the pass was uncatchable. The pass on the play landed 4 or 5 yards out of bounds and the receiver was already out bounds when the defensive back made contact with him.

Absolutely true. Just ask Doug Flutie.

Neither do plays run when there is only 1 second left on the clock, yet Alabama fought hard to get that second back.

Having same numbers didn't affect the play. Not a blatant violation to me. Just a mistake.

Refs may have caught it had there been a timeout but the game was moving fast. Probably why nobody caught it.

Had it been twelve men on the field and not called I get being upset. The number on a jersey is meh.
