Fox Broadcasts are the worst. Theyre in the back of the bus. When watching them its like we've entered a time capsule & traveled back to 1996. They should give up college football altogether & ficus on NFL.

I've heard this complaint before. Do people really dislike the 230 kick? I think it's the number slot of the day. College football fans - especially those wanting to watch at home on TV - will be planted directly in the middle of their couch at that time.
Also, the 230 kick gives attending fans the chance to watch some football in the morning and then catch the majority of the late games afterwards.

I tend to enjoy the CBS games. Verne and Gary are annoying at times, but I admit that I would miss them.
Overall I feel like ESPN/ABC does a good job, but they feel a bit sterile and corporate. They have a lot of the same people on broadcast of tons of different sports. CBS feels like SEC football.
I dislike Fox. Their analysts and graphics are annoying. Can't really comment on NBC b/c I never watch them.

Update: after this article was published a CBS spokesperson sent the following email to Outkick: “The SEC is a cornerstone of our fall programming schedule. We will be broadcasting the SEC Game of the Week for the next 10 seasons and we have every intention of renewing these rights when they expire after the 2023 season.”
Boom, just got word!

Letting CBS cherry pick the best 13 SEC games every year, playing them in a non-prime time slot, locking in the deal for 10 years, and receiving only 40 million a year is easily the worst move of Slive's career.
Slive did get them to concede afternoon national exclusivity in order to make the SECN a go. CBS didn't just say "no" to Slive. Slive got something of which the value is not yet certain.

They sucked anyways. I couldn't stand listening to them during the FLA vs Bama game. cya

I did you dumb fricking gump. All it is, is speculation from a writer who probably had a deadline to meet so he threw this together.
I know this will come as shocking to someone who lives in that shite hole they call Mobile, but not everything that everyone speculates about on the internet comes true.
Crazy huh?!?!?!

Danielson is the smartest analyst in college football and it isn't close....but he doesn't know when to shut up. He talks over plays and complains more than he should. He ruins good plays/moments by harping on certain issues that really aren't relevant. IMO, he is reaching Johnny Miller's level. I thought Saturday was one of his worst games. If he just bit his toungue every now and then, he'd be a much better analyst.
I hope the SEC remains on CBS. It is the right timeslot and setting for the game of the day. It wouldn't feel like a big game without the CBS College Football theme music. Even though I think CBS has slacked on their production quality around SEC games, I don't really want ESPN taking over anything else related to CFB.
Thank goodness they are finally ending the US Open coverage. The SEC should've pressured them to do that a long time ago.

CBS has more cameras, better crowd shots, sideline shots, audio and a clearer picture but the thing I like most about CBS compared to ESPN is that there is no score box/bar at the bottom of the screen throughout the broadcast.

Danielson is a football strategic genius but he's too grumpy.
Vern is your grandfather after he's had too much egg nog.
I like both and hope CBS continues. I'm sure they know they are going to have to back up the truck in order to hold on if they so desire when it's time for negotiations.

CBS - i enjoy Verne and Gary. Hope they never retire. as said before, Gary is really good anticipating new things, and pointing out the strategy behind the game. Verne is Verne, and I cant imagine anyone better. So glad TIm Brando left the CBS fod so that their is no threat of that LSU/Ole Miss homer hating on Bama. haha
NBC - I am intrigued with them. They do a great Sunday Night Football broadcast. Their Notre Dame stuff is decent. BUt every ND halftime is littered with NFL promos. that would need to be fixed.
ESPN/ABC - Only way i would be cool with this is if we had the dedicated slot at 2:30 or 7pm on ABC. I have always thought the uniqueness of CBS on SEC added alot to our exposure.
FOX - Hell no. they suck. Cleetus needs to die a slow death. Gus Johnson sucks at football. DOnt want old Cowboys players with John Buck ruining my Saturday. (I understand that they would have different people and graphics, but I fear the worst from them).
BTW Clay Travis is an arrogant arse who thinks he is smarter than everyone. That article is speculative. He probably wants Fox to buy it out so he can do SEC football every weekend. I think he underestimates the SEC and CBS relationship.

Agreed. Their coverage of the BCS was terrible and I really don't like their coverage right now of Pac 12 games.
If ESPN took it over, I agree with you that the games should be on ABC.

Clay Travis has been pushing this idea since before A&M and Mizzou joined the SEC in 2012. He is absolutely right that the CBS deal pays peanuts compared to what it is actually worth.

CBS picture, game feel, and Verne > ESPN and everyone else. It isnt college football without that big dumbass. He may get names wrong and not know shite, but his voice and energy is second to no one. Gary... Well he brings some insight at times, but he is 2nd fiddle to many. They still make a solid team and CBS period is my favorite.
Well said. Couldn't agree more. Like Verne and Gary a lot, even if they infuriate me with some things from time to time.
Verne is nowhere near his prime and still better than 90 percent of the goofs (Dave Neal, Mark Jones, Bob Wischusen and several other ESPN hacks come to mind) that try their hand at play by play.
